Fairly sweet. I designed one of these for a buddy of mine. It ended up being a bit too degenerate though, mainly because of Palinchron so I totally get your reasoning for not wanting to run it.

However I feel like you could be utilizing more wizard cards. Just as a few examples we have Harbinger of the Tides, Lighthouse Chronologist, Voidmage Prodigy, Captain of the Mists, Graceful Adept, Patron Wizard, Sage of Fables, Inspired Sprite, and Arcanis the Omnipotent.

CaptSillva Currently the deck runs 15 wizards (not including Azami) and I personally don't see the need to run more. Many of the above mentioned wizards are good, but either A) Don't work well in my meta or B) cost too much for their abilities. The reason I'm not running Palinchron isn't about the degeneracy of the deck (this deck is extremely degenerate) it's more because it's a piece in the deck that is otherwise useless without Deadeye Navigator or High Tide etc. I like to minimize the amount of useless cards and maximize the efficiency and power of every card which is why I don't run it.

Well the thing is with Palinchron is that it works with so many different cards not even just deadeye and high tide but also Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, Phantasmal Image, Caged Sun, Gauntlet of Power, and Extraplanar Lens. Even if you don't end up generating unlimited mana you are still getting a free 4/5 flyer hard to argue with value like that.

Of course the story may be a little different with your deck since you concentrate more on artifact mana than land mana and that can vastly change the dynamic of cards like these.

Regardless its your deck go with what works for you. Just try to experiment a little bit everyone now and then. It will keep your local play groups guessing and you may end up surprised by how effective some cards are. I mean have you ever had a Knowledge Pool out with Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir in play? Because of the way Teferi's effect works it makes it so your opponent's can't play spells from Knowledge pool. Meaning they can't cast spells from their hand at all.

CaptSillva I've been experimenting on what works with this deck in my meta for over a year and a half. The problem with Knowledge Pool is that it is another card that is simply a combo piece for Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir. There are only 2 cards in this deck that serve as strictly combo pieces Rings of Brighthearth and Mind Over Matter. Every other card in this deck has a purpose and doesn't need some other card to work effectively. By increasing the number of strict combo pieces in the deck I increase the amount of useless cards I will be drawing into. This deck is built to win quickly and effectively. It often wins too fast (My LGS has a rule that if you win pre turn 6 you get less points) and that has happened very often. Even though that's not necessarily a good thing, I am proud of the deck's speed. I feel that adding cards like Knowledge Pool and Palinchron will slow the deck down and ultimately decrease its effectiveness. I thank you for your suggestions though.

Neat deck!

Any room for Patron Wizard? Or is it too marginal/slow?

rothgar13 Many Azami lists do run Patron Wizard and it is definitely a neat card. The problem I had with it when I ran it was that it costed (which is quite an aggressive cost for what is in my opinion a mediocre wizard). Considering Azami, Lady of Scrolls has in her cost as well as Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir and these cards are far more profitable for me to spend on than Patron wizard. The other problem with him is that he makes the deck want to counter more than it needs to (if that makes any sense). This deck, above all else, is a combo deck with the control element being secondary. I want to net as much draw as possible from my wizards to stay ahead and set up my combo as fast as possible and Patron Wizard wants me to use my wizards for countering when they are truly best in this build for getting card advantage and then casting extra turn spells to seal the win.

KailDaemon Thank you for the upvote, glad my list could help. If you want more ideas I suggest you check out my friend's Arcanis the Omnipotent list. His username is Scheidecker1 and the deck is titled Prepare Your Anus, Here Comes Arcanis. We tend to 1 v 1 each other often and our decks are essentially even in terms of win-rate.

Both Worn Powerstone and Commander's Sphere were in this deck and were cut for better rocks. As for Caged Sun it's too expensive CMC wise for my deck which is why I run Extraplanar Lens and Snow-Covered Islands. Mind Stone is in fact on my list right now. As for the rest of the rocks you mentioned they're either too expensive CMC wise for their effect or they're just meh in general.
