The name is in reference to the perfected play by the legendary Green Bay Packer coach. Opponents knew what was coming, no surprises, but the Packers executed it to perfection so it was always difficult to stop. I feel like mono-green monsters is the same way...no surprises...you just need to stop it, which can sometimes be difficult.

I'm a new player, so I decided to start easy and go Mono-Green. This was put together from decks I've seen on here, so I can't take credit for anything except having the disposable income to buy all these cards.

It seems to have great mana ramp nearly all the time. When it's perfect, I can get some horsepower out early. I almost always get a Hornet Nest out early, which tends to slow down attackers. My favorite thing to do is to use Setessan Tactics to whack my own hornets nest or throw it at an opponent.

I started with only one Nissa and went 2-2 on my first two FNM's. I added a second Nissa and went 3-1. She seems to garner all the attention as soon as she comes out, which lets make a couple of big moves to set up the board. I decided to add a 3rd Nissa, Worldwaker. I'm hoping it works as well as I think it will this weekend. I'm thinking of swapping one forest for another Darksteel Citadel. The [[Nissa, Worldwaker]+[Darksteel Citadel]] combo works great. Even if they have a 5/5 or higher that can block, it keeps forces them to hold it back as a blocker.

I've been thinking of adding just a touch of red so I can incorporate craters claw. My opponents like to wipe the board frequently, leaving me with a ton of mana. craters claw sure would be nice to have when that happens.

I welcome suggestions, but please explain them to me :-)

I finally discovered the value of Chord of Calling, so I have main boarded it. I may even add a 3rd.

I'd like to use Hornet Queen more, but I haven't had the need. Arbor Colossus or Setessan Tactics or Bow of Nylea have been providing me with enough protection from flyers.

I've upgraded my sideboard recently. Roar of Challenge seemed like a good addition to help clear a bunch of Goblin/Soldier tokens, as well as another way to clear any fliers. Hornet Queen can help with that as well. Fade into Antiquity and Reclamation Sage are there in case I need to clear artifacts or enchantments. I've used them a few times, after the first game, and they worked to perfection.

I've been playing around with some prototype decks in which I splash a 2nd color. With Red, I've been thinking of adding just a touch so I can incorporate craters claw. My opponents like to wipe the board frequently, leaving me with a ton of mana. craters claw sure would be nice to have when that happens.

I've been playing around with some Blue as well, but nothing seems to play as well.

I definitely welcome any help/suggestions, especially with my sideboard.

I went 2-2 tonight at our local FNM. My two wins were against Red Aggro decks, which I seem to do well against. My two loses were against Abzan decks. I was competitive bt just not well enough. Abzan seems to be popular so if anybody has some suggestions, please share.
