Sideboard

The first iteration of the deck is here: Jeskai Burn

Mantis Rider in, Abbot of Keral Keep out, Chandra, Flamecaller in Narset Transcendent out, two lands in, Expedite out (not as useful with more haste creatures) bringing the land count up to 24 (also important with the addition of Chandra, a six-drop.)

Abbot was a questionable card with counterspells in the side (which I think are necessary for some match-ups, i.e. Rally the Ancestors and Collected Company) and with this many high drops. While it is a great card, Mantis Rider is a better fit in general and a great card against the aggressive green decks (collected company variations and abzan aggro) which this deck struggled against with Abbot included.

Why I think Exquisite Firecraft is a great Magic card:

  1. Great target for Goblin Dark-Dwellers.

  2. A lot of decks think they are safe from removal (aside from crackling doom) by playing 4 toughness creatures. It's actually a really great removal spell right now, hitting Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet, Thunderbreak Regent, Anafenza, the Foremost, Mantis Rider, Goblin Dark-Dwellers, Stormchaser Mage (and as a bonus can't be Dispeled because it's a sorcery).

  3. This is at heart a burn deck. It can be targeted at your opponent.

Why I think Outpost Siege is a great Magic card (and for this deck better than Treasure Cruise).

  1. With this much burn in the deck, landing an outpost siege is almost a death sentence.

  2. Filters out extra lands and lets you get to your good spells while also hitting your land drops.

  3. You never run out of gas as an aggro deck.

  4. This deck requires spells in the graveyard for Goblin Dark-Dwellers to be effective, delving them away for Treasure Cruise can be quite bad and makes Fiery Impulse weaker as well. On top of this, this deck doesn't run a fetch land mana base (which it definitely could and I would if I had the lands).

With that being said, there are circumstances when Outpost Siege isn't ideal. Playing with counter spells and playing against Dromoka's Command. In those cases I side them out for counter magic. We'll see how it works. Update: I've changed Outpost Siege for Narset Transcendent. She works a lot better with counterspells and rebounding any spell is extremely powerful, especially with prowess.
