"I will build a round table, where this fellowship shall meet. And a hall about the table. And a castle about the hall!" -Arthur Pendragon (Excalibur, 1981)
A casual Modern Knights deck. Always wanted one of those, but didn't really see it happening until Throne of Eldraine came along with the storybook art Knights, and I had no choice in the matter anymore. I wanted some of that Arthurian mysticism, like the blessing of the Lady of the Lake, nature blooming again with majestic vigor when the knights ride out from the castle to battle a great injustice, an understanding and respect between man and fae, between steel and magic.
The idea is simple, drop some knights and beat face with them. There's some instant speed stuff and plenty of drawing and fetching to keep the party going. Acclaimed Contender and Collected Company help us keep some card advantage and find a good chunk of our interactive cards. Surprise indestructible or lifegain from a Collected Company is always good fun. Or whiff six lands and die to air superiority. But, y'know, valiantly.
The sideboard gives you access to extra removal, land destruction, evasion, protection, and lifegain. Oh, and there's the option of Collected Company-ing in a Remorseful Cleric to blow up a yard at instant speed, that's always cool too.
