Sideboard

Enchantment (6)

Sorcery (2)

It's the typical...Cascade into Restore Balance. My preferred wincons are Gifts Ungiven+Unburial Rites a finisher, or just Nahiri, the Harbinger+Emrakul, the Aeons Torn that has been so popular in modern lately. Don't forget to leave a +1 and thumbs up if you like it!

@Rargonaut, can u use terramorphic expanse for mistveil plains? I think if I do end up replacing jhoira, it will be with Gideon Jura, and I have seen Garruk in these decks. I will not be playing windswept heath, as I'm keeping this budget because I'm fairly poor. I don't know how good mistveil is without heath, so get back to me on that

Thanks---adamwasmo

Here's the list I've been running the past few monthshttp://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/balanced-breakfast-cascade-control/

So keeping budget in mind, the things I would add in would be the Gideon Jura, Garruk Relentless. Heath is worth trying, but I'm not sure if it would stick because no, you cannot fetch it with terramorphic.

I took out jhoira for Bring to Light as a good seeker and good replacement. thoughts?

I've never been a fan of BtL in this deck, you already run 8 3 mana versions of this spell and you don't really have other things the tutor up, if you ran say, hero of bladehold, huntmaster of the fells, or other such 3-4 mana win condition. Oh! I almost forgot to recommend Refraction Trap for the sideboard, really good in the burn matchup.

I'm confident with my sideboard status as is, If i had money, I'd invest in some Leyline of Sanctity but as is, being able to cascade into Kor Firewalker is very useful. BTL can also function as a removal spell, I can just find dismember or beast within, which could be very useful.

It would be gr8 if u would give me a tcg giftcard and i could make this deck really competitive :p lol jk

needs more Blood Moon

I think that magus is better in sideboard, because in the majority of the matches that you are going to be playing blood moon in will be a more grindy matchup, and the extra 2 per turn actually helps in this case

February 3, 2016 10:15 p.m.

Magus of the Moon is far easier to remove than Blood Moon itself. Things like Path to Exile and Dismember are MB cards that answer it. Blood Moon is a lot harder to remove in G1, and while it gets a little easier in G2 it doesnt become that much easier.

magus is a sideboard card. In most instances they will have boarded out their removal, except maybe some paths, which will be hard to cast. G2 it is hard for them to remove, and they won't see it game one

This is how I did it and it was rather succesful: Cut all removal spells except for restore balance, add incidental lifegain creatures to make sure you dont insta die to burn/zoo (4 kitchen finks and 2 obstinate baloth). 20 borderposts (all of them). And for wincon use either thrun, the last troll because no one call deal with thrun at 2 lands and the gargadon because thats the best card ever. 4 Leyline of sanctity in the board is 100% essential as it is very hard to beat turn 1 thoughtseize your borderpost into turn 2 ancient grudge for example which is a pretty normal jund draw, it also makes you way stronger against burn. After I got kinda bored with the deck I added both twin combo and Gifts combo at the same time, this forced the opponent to either win really early and get rekt by restore balance or they have to play it slow and play around the combos at all times.

I am keeping it semi-budget, only about $76 on tcg. I based this off of various professional decks, including Peter Vizien and the recent vizcarra who placed 6th in the current 2015 star city open 2015 in Atlanta.

I've been playing balance for awhile now, and there's a lot of good things about your list (namely, beast within) I'd try to squeeze in some windswept heath's if you get the chance, they make a huge difference. I'd also cut Jhoira and replace her with Garruk Relentless and Ajani Vengeant/Ral Zarek. Planeswalkers not only live through balance, these 3 specifically help control the board in turns when balance is inappropriate, and Garruk is a straight-up win condition.

Also, (sorry, forgot) play Mistveil Plains it is easily the best land in any balance deck and gives you long game against control decks.
