Sideboard

Deck Strategy

If you like making your opponents mad, this is the deck for you. Built more as a control deck than its Eggs and Ancient Stirrings counterpart, the deck aims to stall the game as you assemble the land base, then taking advantage of the explosive mana supply. Fog effects and various removal can usually buy you 4 to 5 turns to gain control of the board. The namesake of the deck, Pulse of Murasa, as well as Mystical Teachings, fuel your hand, allows your creatures to be used multiple times, and protects and tutors your win conditions. The primary goal is the create a soft loop with Mnemomic Wall and Ghostly Flicker, using the other creatures for their card advantage and board control abilities. Each game plays out differently, so having a variety of win conditions pre-and-post board provides what is needed in each match.

Strengths:

  • Big mana means big spells. With the color filter effects, multiple cards can be played each turn, allowing for hard hitting effects. Dinrova Horror and Rolling Thunder serve as the finishers.

  • Having Mystical Teachings and Forbidden Alchemy allow you to dig for whatever you need, letting the deck run single copies of cards but can get them to hand easily.

Weaknesses:

  • Because Tron decks usually need to have the land base made quickly, fast aggro decks have a strong advantage, burn in particular.

  • Murasa Tron uses your graveyard in multiple directions, so in some situations a well timed effect removing the graveyard can damage your win percentage, or even cost you the game.

Additional Notes

With Mystical Teachings being a core strategy, different combinations of instants can be used. Some people prefer to have some counterspell effects, but the choices are meta-dependent.
