Curious Pair

Creature — Human Peasant

(You may cast Curious Pair from exile if you sent it on an adventure.)

Treats to Share

Sorcery — Adventure

Create a Food token.

(You may cast Treats to Share for from anywhere that you have the permission to cast this, then exile it on an adventure instead of putting it into your graveyard. When you have not chosen to cast Treats to Share, this card is treated only as Curious Pair in whatever zone it is in.)

(Example scenarios for Treats to Share: You may cast this off of Melek, Izzet Paragon. You may not target this with Snapcaster Mage. Thalia, Guardian of Thraben increases the cost of this. Electrodominance requires X=1. You may cast this from a cascade spell if the spell has a cost greater than Curious Pair's cost. If you cast a Treats to Share that another player owns, only you may cast the Curious Pair that got sent on an adventure, not the owner.)

Nice budget build! Some thoughts:

  • I think you should endeavor to get Gingerbread Cabin added in here - i'd say you can probably replace them with the Jungle Hollow (I don't think you necessarily need 2-colour lands, your manabase looks pretty simple, so I don't see it causing too many issues).

  • The only two cards here that feel a bit dubious to me are Foul Play and Syndicate Trafficker. I don't think you want to be investing tokens in the Trafficker when you have better payoff options, and i'm worried Foul Play is super situational. A playset of the Shambling Ghast you have in your maybeboard would be a much stronger option, imo, though i'm not sure if that breaks the budget-rules of the deck. Curious Pair could be another option.

Nice deck! Bloodbriar, Curious Pair and Tempting Witch might be useful. Looking at your deck, Trail of Crumbs and Gingerbread Cabin might be good in my Korvold, Fae-Cursed King deck.

I've been considering replacing Curious Pair w/ Gilded Goose

I think a "return" theme in these colors would be cool, and you have some fitting cards already like Syr Konrad, Forever Young (super good with konrad!), Once and Future, Cauldron's Gift, and Barrow Witches.

Other cards that would work with this theme include Order of Midnight , Cauldron Familiar , Deathless Knight , and some others that have synergy with these cards are Edgewall Innkeeper , Curious Pair , and Savvy Hunter .

Curious Pair is extremely underpowered. Replace it with Gingerbrute , who is aggro + food + unblockable + extra triggers for Wildborn . Put in the Wicked Wolf s, and cut the ramp ( Paradise Druid and Gift of Paradise at least, maybe not Gilded Goose ) since your only expensive card is Garruk . Overgrown Tomb needs to be in this deck. If you need lands to replace, replace Temple of Malady (scry 1 is okay, but tapped lands are bad).

There's a lot of stuff in here that doesn't really fit the theme. Fae of Wishes , for example, even if it does fetch from your sideboard.

If Feasting Troll King is your main win-con, you need more ability to get him out and keep him out. Food is what I mean here. Gingerbrute is a killer in any food deck, because you can use him to activate things that need food but you can also get some pretty heavy aggro going early-game. Giant Opportunity is IMO under-used. Curious Pair is underpowered, even if you're going for food. Add a few more Oko s, and some Fabled Passage s too to get you those forests when you need it, because 4 green even at turn 6 in a dual-color deck is hard.

I don't really like Edgewall Innkeeper here, there's not enough synergy to really justify four of them. The counterspell aspect of this deck is interesting, and I can't say for sure if it's worth it, but in your testing keep an eye on that and see how well it works for you.

I haven't seen very many Food decks yet so I'm excited to check this one out. Are you going Simic just for Oko mostly? You might be better off going Mono Green. Also check out Gingerbrute and Golden Egg as both count as Food. Also Curious Pair creates a food token with its adventure. Woodland Champion will also be great because it triggers everytime a Food token enters the field. Fell the Pheasant could be helpful as well for flying removable, and it creates Food. If you want guaranteed removal, Plummet is your friend. If you put more cards with Adventures in the deck, I'd go with Edgewall Innkeeper as well for card draw.
