Tier 1 Victory
Aech, 11 years ago
Tonight I won tier 1. This was a lot harder as for my final game I had to defeat a Blood Baron of Vitzkopa. However I managed it and won: 2-0,2-1,2-0,1-0 (I finished the second game of this set with 72 life).

- Xenagos, God of Revels. Replacing Akroma's Memorial. Too expensive, hardly ever cast. And when I do, it's immediately blown up XD

Wanna get my hands on an Iroas, God of Victory *list* when it comes out. That card is gonna be great.
- Soul of the Harvest. Replacing Blazing Archon. It's going back in. Blazing is great, but bit expensive to cast if in hand. And too easy to remove.
- Unexpectedly Absent. Replacing Hua Tuo, Honored Physician. Nice idea for the deck, but it never became useful in a multiplayer game. Too much going on.
- Chaos Warp. Replacing Spearbreaker Behemoth.
- Godsire. Replacing Blightsteel Colossus. Not as great as I thought it'd be.

Replaced Haunting Echoes with Grim Harvest, which removes a high cost card that reduces (!) the size of an opponents graveyard with one that can recycle Augur of Skulls at one end, or retrieve Consuming Aberration at the other. Still considering whether to actually create a sideboard for Grafdigger's Cage and replace it (and Oracle's Insight) with Sword of Body and Mind and Aqueous Form.a few tweaks

the deck is fairing even. 3-1 mostly, 2-2 sometimes. i reduced the land count to 23 because I see more land than I should be seeing. I also added a jace to help with the digging. coursers came in as both big blockers & to pair with kiora. to know if I can double land drop is kinda important. I've noticed not a lot of praise from the deck, so I'll just assume my brew is okay at best. it's at least fun to deviate from the boring standard meta & play something no one else is & still not get completely annihilated by all the current tier one decks.

Enter Harry & the Jester
mikemega, 11 years ago
Herald of Torment and Spike Jester are back. The deck needs speed and Spike J takes care of that. Harry is a little better now as well since he'll have another bestow target besides Mutavault. Went down to 3 Vaults due to Spike's mana cost - testing will tell if I can get away with 3. Rakdos's Return is out of the main because it's so mana intensive and I rarely get to use it effectively anyways. Also came down a Thoughtseize due to Harry pinging me 1 per upkeep, not to mention the shocks. The smaller creatures will help bring earlier pressure, plus eat removal so massive dudes can stick around and do work. Harry and Spike... let's give them another shot.
The sideboard is much better now with Magma Jet. I need something against aggro and the Jets ought to help me remove a dude + dig for a beater. I wish my sideboard was 4 of this, 4 of that... for consistency but I'm all over the place. Any suggestions? I'd like a creature in the sideboard to replace the Zombie versus MonoBlack. I'm bad against black, I discovered.
Thanks so much for your feedback

So I believe I've come up with a solution to fast aggro decks. I added Sleep's to stall and some nice creatures to finish the opponent off after Medomai does the dirty work.
Price Drops
rldcad1, 11 years ago
The price has been dropping steadily so I made some changes and added 3x Nylea, God of the Hunt. So many bigger creatures and they don't trample? Not so much...
