Not only do we run 16(!) copies of Spreading Seas , we also run a full set of Shardless Agent which will, more often than not, cascade into (you guessed it) Spreading Seas . TLDR: Any land our opponent plays will be an island. A single Choke will lock them out of the game.

Meanwhile, we will be getting a board full of creatures to attack with. Between AEtherize , Fire / Ice and Merrow Reejerey we have enough interaction to keep whatever creatures our opponents does cast in check. Reejerey also helps us out by untapping our own islands or Simic Growth Chamber .

Following my testing, simply locking the opponent out of their colors is often not enough. Choke will truly achieve the lock I'm aiming for, all be it at the cost of our own lands too. Enigmatic Incarnation is fun jank, but too often a dead card:

-2 Enigmatic Incarnation -1 Convincing Mirage --> +3 Choke

The manabase is adjusted to accommodate our islands not untapping:

-3 Island, -2 Temple of Mystery --> +1 Forest +1 Yavimaya Coast +2 Simic Growth Chamber +2 Lonely Sandbar

Closing out games is tough with low power creatures. Unfortunately, 2 mana lords screw with the Shardless Agent into Spreading Seas plan. To keep this as consistent as possible, we move to 6 3-mana lords:

-4 Cold-Eyed Selkie --> +2 card:merfolk reejerey +2 Merfolk Sovereign

Harbinger of the Tides is a very strong card, though I've been preferring Fire / Ice. Its more flexible and doesn't interfere with cascade: -2 Harbinger of the Tides --> +2 Fire / Ice

Lignify works poorly with AEtherize and cascade. Similarly, Simic Charm is a situational (though flexible) we don't want to cascade into:

-2 Lignify -2 Simic Charm --> +1 AEtherize +3 See the Truth
