Sideboard

I prefer Monastery Mentor to Goblin Rabblemaster in Jeskai Tokens because Mentor allows for more in-game decisions. It can still close out games quickly, it just takes a bit more work. The upside is that it plays defense significantly better, and it can still provide value in the face of removal (along with being more difficult to burn away).

I originally dropped Hordeling Outburst completely after Dragon Fodder's reprint. The mana is much easier without the casting cost on turn 3, but I've found that Stoke the Flames is more difficult to cast for free. I recently put two back in as a compromise.

Three Valorous Stance main might look a bit strange. The third is there primarily to help support Mentor. Having ways to protect him is important; being able to do so with a removal spell is flexibility that I value.

The transitional sideboard is expected at this point, but shifting into a control role is still a very strong plan. Jeskai Ascendancy gives you a better late game than nearly every deck in the format.
