I'll second the coment on the Deadly Recluse. Both Increasing Savagery and Wolfir Silverheart are very strong. I would also take a look at Pit Fight, Garruk Relentless  Flip, and either Triumph of Ferocity or Garruk, Primal Hunter.

Thragtusk is a briliant equaliser, but out of an aggro deck you're much more interested in getting damage down range. It's not a bad card, but I wouldn't run a full four. Deathrite Shaman is one way to answer the reanimator decks, but because you dont get to abuse the second side of it I've always gone with answers like Grafdigger's Cage.

@theemptyquiver: They're naked and painted! 6/6 wonderful. But I do agree these girls shouldn't bank on any non-nude modeling careers.

That being said the deck looks like it'd be fun to play. I like the idea of using fighting to buff up predator ooze. I am wondering if there aren't any instants that you could use to buff up creatures mid combat phase or even to buff up the ooze and then use him to fight and destroy a larger creature.

Pit Fight over Prey Upon imo

@ThEdUnCeCaP, @Wolfsage13: Deadly Recluse is here mainly for deathtouch combo with fights and as a target for scavanged Deadbridge Goliath or Revenge of the Hunted. Also I learned the hard way that most green decks can't deal with a Sigarda, Host of Herons so I'm gun-shy from that matchup.

I agree that Thragtusk, Deathrite etc. are great cards but I freaking hate Thragtusk :-)

Deadbridge Goliath does double duty here as a 5/5 beater and a slightly overpriced Increasing Savagery. Not to keen on the planeswalkers, they're good but I want to focus on BEATING FAAAACE!

Thx all for +1's! Plz keep comments and upvotes coming for ST PATTYS woooot! chugs green beer

PS: None of you guys would kick any of those women out of bed. :-)

Just because i wouldnt kick them outta bed...doesnt inherently make them hot. Excluding the leftmost girl....shes pretty spiffy

I have to agree with Bababad. It does make me regret never taking up body painting. So much time not painting naked women squandered playing magic...

ThEdUnCeCaP says... #13

yeah true. but when would u wanna fight the recluse when you got so many wolfirs deadbridges and more insane creatures. even with a wolfir avenger you could probably get a solid kill as opposed to the recluse which you use once

Ditched the Deadly Recluse for another Wolfir Avenger and another Silklash Spider.

MinscAndBoo says... #19

Now down to 1 Silklash Spider (can equalize late game against angels/tokens). Added another Yeva, Nature's Herald and a second Revenge of the Hunted. Deck can stall at two mana if it's unlucky, but very strong if it gets an Elf and two forest.

I like monocolor.

I love Baldur's Gate.

You get a vote from me. =)

Actual advice:I'm not sure about Yeva, Nature's Herald ... flash is nice but extremely situational, basically only good for surprise blocking. Plus you already have 4x of a flash creature (the Avenger). Her usefulness seems extremely limited.

I'd at least cut her down to 2 because she's legendary. Having 2 in your hand at any time is going to be bad. If it were me, I'd consider replacing her totally.

For the 5 mana slot, I'd sideboard the Silklash, and put in Vorapede. That thing is brutally powerful in monogreen. I feel like the only reason it's not played in other decks is the 3 colored mana in its cost.

In my opinion, monogreen can't pull off leaning towards aggro as it can't compete with R, W or B in that regard. It's strength are powerful midgame/lategame creatures.

I'd also strongly suggest trying out Gyre Sage as it will evolve from EVERYTHING (including itself) in your deck except the elves.

It also grows from your undying creatures, getting essentially double counters if a ghoul or Vorapede dies.

It also gives you more mana ramp which is extremely important in mono green.

Also I think 4x Ulvenwald Tracker is overkill. You have 4 Prey Upon already and outside of the fight ability, he's a 1/1 for 2 mana.

Predator ooze is good but it requires basically 3 cards to work properly (Rancor+Prey Upon/Tracker).

With just a Rancor but no "fight" card it is just a 3/1 for 4 mana.

With just a fight card but not Rancor it's a 1/1 for 3 mana that has basically no way to grow unless the opponent is running lots of 1/1s w/o flying.

I'd cut one or two of them.

I'd also consider Wasteland Viper. It's an extremely efficient creature that can be played as a combat trick or a removal when combined with Prey Upon.

So my final suggestions would be:

-3 Yevas

-1 Spider (to s/b)

-1 Deadbridge Goliath (optional)

-4 Ulvenwald Tracker

-1/2 Predator Ooze

+3/4 Gyre Sage

+2 Vorapede

+3 Wasteland Viper

+1 Wolfir Silverheart (just an overall amazing finisher card)

Even with these changes though, this deck is going to be extremely vulnerable to board wipes, as it is creature heavy. Bonfire of the Damneds, Mutilates, Supreme Verdicts, Terminuses, overloaded Cyclonic Rifts are all going to wreck it.

This is the reason I believe Vorapede is so good. It has undying, it's big without any help (unlike the ooze), it can always save you from weenie rushes because of it's vigilance+trample combo, basically making the opponent take more damage than he does to you if he decides to attack with his three 1/1s or two 2/1s.

I'd go for a third one if your meta is removal/board wipe heavy.

Valgard says... #22

Another reason to love Vorapede is that it basically shits on Thragtusk. It kills it, smacks for trample damage and then is back from the grave, strong enough to not give a damn about its token.

Valgard Haha, thank you for the suggestions and the eye candy.

I too love Vorapede, it needs to be in this deck. Gonna do a major update...

MinscAndBoo says... #24

OK, I made a few tweaks albeit not as extensive as you'd suggested. I have had great success with Yeva, Nature's Herald as my meta is fairly control-heavy. Added Vorapede and Primordial Hydra while removing a few Ulvenwald Tracker and the Silklash Spider. I think this looks more powerful!

PS--I agree Wolfir Silverheart is broken but the Hydra has long been a favorite of mine!
