Sideboard

A casual ramp-mill deck I designed when Zendikar was still standard, and now tweaked for the Innistrad block, so I suppose it's Extended. At some point I will probably update the list for Modern just so I have access to Scapeshift.

The core idea of this deck is to play as many Hedron Crabs as possible and copy them with Phantasmal Image ASAP. Hold off on using fetchlands, Khalni Gems, etc. until you've played your crabs and images. Then, let loose a torrent of lands with Oracle of Mul Daya, Primeval Titan, and Walking Atlas. Even if the opponent doesn't search their library to trigger Archive Trap, you'll be able to hardcast if necessary without damaging the overall gameplan.

The deck is pretty resilient and can pull off an aggro win if the opponent is too busy trying to deal with your Hedron Crabs. But with that said, the deck is very dependent on having a Hedron Crab and (Phantasmal Images to copy it) in your opening hand, otherwise you have to stall for a while or switch to aggro.

One of the problems a mill deck faces is that the opponent can side in all sorts of hate that makes winning almost impossible. So in response I designed this deck to be modular -- you can side out the mill cards (Hedron Crabs and Archive Traps) for Thrun, the Last Troll, Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre, and Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, as well as the other aggro helpers. In effect it becomes a straightforward ramp-aggro deck, and in doing so sometimes works to our advantage by leaving the opponent's hand cluttered with useless hate cards.

Let me know what you guys think.
