- 3x Censor
- 3x Essence Scatter
- 4x Glimmer of Genius
- 2x Hieroglyphic Illumination
- 3x Negate
- 2x Perilous Voyage
- 3x Settle the Wreckage
- 4x Supreme Will
I really like this deck, it has a fun strategy and combo. What I'm wondering is if you want [Ixalan's Binding] instead of [cast out], it doesn't have flash, but it prevents copies from entering.

So, I like that this is a control shell trying to use Fleet Swallower like a combo. However, I think that you should also have some light mill in the main as a way to do something while you have Fraying Sanity in play but not Swallower. Tothat end, I suggest Winds of Rebuke over Perilous Voyage (unless you think the Scry is important) and maybe some number of Compelling Argument. While I'm afraid the argument for including strict mill is not very compelling, the fact that Compelling Argument can be cycled means that it isn't dead in the matchups where removal or a missing combo piece are what you want.

I like it, essentially the same idea as mine but at a slower, more controlled pace that allows you to be more consistant. Mine is just ridiculously combo, no messing around with anything else - so you're would probably be more competitive in an actual standard match.

Rex_JB24 I would be adding Winds of Rebuke for sure!! I have enough scrying and card draw already. The only things that is kind of stoping me from running a couple of Compelling Argument is the fact that is sorcery speed, but I would give it a try on cockatrice, I think I'd replace one essence scatter and one negate for a couple of them; Then agter g2 sideboard a couple of censor (in case I'm on the draw) adding the negate and the essence scatter back. Thanks for the suggestions!

What about running Spell Pierce in place of some other counters?

NCN946 well that would be purely situational, if im playing against black probably yes, I'll wait if I can, remember we have 3 in the deck anyways. If playing against temur energy or something I probably would care unless they have tons of energy and can harnessed ligh

Hey you know what, I think you have given me a hilarious idea to try out at my next standard fnm. I am in the process of building a control deck with Approach of the Second Sun which I had always wanted to do long before it now has caught on with others.
Just maybe as a joke, this might be a bit silly, but I might throw in 3-4 Fleet Swallower and 3 Fraying Sanity's in my own sideboard to catch my opponent off guard with a new win con. Because the thing is, is that your mainboard is very similar to mine already, playing most of the same cards, so it's just a matter of swapping out my copies of Approach of the Second Sun and 3 other things for these cards to make a mill strategy.
Definitely getting an upvote.

It's a great deck something I'm using that is black blue similar but I think that you need creatures because when the dinosaurs get going you're just going to get killed before you ever get your Fleet swallower you're going to need some kind of protection and counter-spells are situational if you get a negate and they play a creature there's nothing you can do. So i have a couple purates that bring treasure to speed me up, and bring the swalloer faster.

Delta-117 I was thinking on doing this myself lol!!! but the other way around, having Approach of the Second Sun on sideboard to have it as a new win cond. It would be actually a good strategy and a fun one too! I already have one AOTSS so I would have to get at least 2 more. And after sideboard swapping them most likely by Fleet Swallower.

wanderingbard Thank you for your input. Remember that sideboard ir really important on a magic match, If I see a heavy creature deck after game one, I will most likely change 2 negates for 1 essence scatter and dissallow, and add also at leats 3 God-Pharaoh's Faithful. Dynos need the right cards to be able to play them quickly. Also thinking on adding Unsummon to the sideboard.

I know there's no red in this, but with any treasure I would consider adding Bloodlust Inciter. It's a cheap way to give Fleet Swallower haste and deny them a chance to respond with sorceries like Walk the Plank.
Now that I think about it, it's hilarious that Walk the Plank can't kill merfolk but it can kill fish.

DrZicter thank you for the idea but adding Bloodlust Iciter deviates too much from how this deck plays. I might just add a couple of Arcane Adaptation to the sb lol, but most likely I'll just wait till I can safely play Swallower, probably turn 9

This would play out funny when the opponent brings a Fleet Swallower back from the graveyard with his/her Scarab God.

I'm adding white to my mill deck now. Just for settle the wreckage, fumigate, cast out, ixalan's binding, and approach of the second sun. Haahahahhahahahahah! Imagine the look on people's faces when with a fleet swallower on the field, you jank out an approach. Then cast a torrential gearhulk. Hahaha. Priceless! Seriously though, I'm totally doing this.
