Just play test this. It's a Colossus core with a Ballista-Construct side plan.

Get artifacts in play to make Metalwork Colossus cheap to cast. Sac a Sanctum of Ugin to grab another.

Cheapen everything with Foundry Inspector, get them back with Scrap Trawler. Metallic Mimic makes everything bigger, but can't crew vehicles unfortunately. Scrapheap Scrounger is a good way to apply resilient pressure and crew vehicles.

Fatal Push is mostly to buy turns to get to Colossus. Kill things important to their strategy like mana dorks or energy sinks. Battle at the Bridge is a cheap way to eliminate a clock from something like Archangel Avacyn   or gain life to outlast Aggro.

The mana opens up a more thorough sideboard, with things like Negate and Kozilek's Return.

Walking Ballista shines, even without the Snek. Mimic naming Construct always saves you and Inspector gets you another off its cost. It's CMC allows you to spend its counters and get it back with Scrap Trawler.

Cultivator Caravan mostly gets off a Metalwork Colossus but can be crewed to block or apply pressure, and helps fix mana for non-black sideboard cards. Hedron Archive makes Colossus cheaper and can be sacked to draw cards and trigger Scrap Trawler to bring back a dead artifact.
