Sideboard

First Modern Deck (Budget) (although less budget now but still relatively cheap without Spellskite and Noble Hierarch)

The aim of this deck was to be as competitive as possible with the extremely budget options for the deck, then to slowly upgrade over time. Being new to modern I will also be learning to play the format while improving this list. For budget reasons it will likely remain mono green for the foreseeable future.

Deck plays like any other infect list. Aim to turn 1 or 2 play an infect creature then pump it and if they have a blocker, give it protection with Apostle's Blessing or trample with Llanowar Augur (or of course hope it is a Blighted Agent). Pump and rush opponent to 10 infect then rinse and repeat. Main strategy is mulling until you have an infect source (although i don't usually go below 5) and choosing the correct time to alpha strike with winning fast being the primary objective. Wild Defiance helps save your guys from burn and get through for those big swings if the game progresses to mid game.

Sideboard contains all our tailored removal depending on the match-up, as well as Pithing Needle and Twisted Image as our deterrent to Spellskite (which hoses this deck), Nature's Claim for enchantments and artifacts, Dispel for extra protection against removal, Dismember to remove big guys like Tasigur, the Golden Fang and Gurmag Angler, and ofcourse the obligatory Tormod's Crypt incase of graveyard strategies.

June 12 2015: 0 wins - 4 losses - 0 ties

Poor piloting mostly but helped me change a few things. Really just played too aggressively and didn't know what I cards was facing.

R1: White Weenies Midrange? Win-Loss-Loss

R2: UG Infect Win-Loss-Loss

R3: Esper Control Win-Loss-Loss

R4: Jeskai Ascension/Retraction Helix Combo Loss-Loss

July 10 2015: 2 wins - 2 losses - 0 ties

Felt a lot better about this night. Pendelhaven and Inkmoth Nexus were amazing and the first loss was really close in both games (in one I was 2 damage away from killing him with Llanowar Augur from 12 life and in the other I had him but he used Deflecting Palm which I now know is very hard to deal with as I cant use any of my hand full of protection spells against it). Learned to not always side out my Llanowar Augur as they are very useful when I can't draw any of my infect creatures first hand.

R1: RW Burn Win-Loss-Loss

R2: Mono White Pillow Fort Win-Win

R3: White Weenies Midrange? Win-Loss-Win

R4: Grixis Control Win-Loss-Loss

August 7 2015: 3 wins - 1 loss - 0 ties

Came second (woot promo Serum Visions). To sum up this night, went against RG tron 3 times and won (as long as they dont turn 3 Karn Liberated this is an easy matchup). Deck I lost to was UWR delver packing a LOT of removal and i basically didn't draw any Apostle's Blessing or Vines of Vastwood in game 2 and 3 (won first game on turn 3).Overall feeling more and more confident with the deck. Still learning new stuff each time.

R1: RG Tron Win-Loss-Win

R2: UWR Delver Win-Loss-Loss

R3: RG Tron Win-Win

R4: RG Tron Win-Loss-Win

August 26 2015: 2 wins - 1 loss - 0 ties

Store's first Wednesday night magic. First time piloting the UG list. Got second in a pod of 7 losing to Burn which really is turning out to be a tough match up. Jund was tough too but got some lucky top decks.

R1: Mono Blue Turns Loss-Win-Win

R2: Jund Loss-Win-Win

R3: Boros Burn Loss-Loss

Updates Add

Finally went for it and bought the last few pieces I needed for blue/green. Updated the description and decklist. Really happy with this list and apart from minor tuning it will likely remain this way as I don't see myself buying Spellskite or Noble Hierarch
