First off, the main constraint:
I play in a group that only plays decks that have a price tag of $40.00 or less by TCGPlayer average price.

This deck is my answer to the current meta of many white wennie decks--full of allies that pump each other, soldiers, and cards like Champion of the Parish, Field Marshal, Honor of the Pure, etc.

The goal of this deck is to have both players dump their hands, sit back, and wait for Bottomless Pit , The Rack, and Shrieking Affliction to finish the job.

Deck strategy/flow:

  1. Set up defenses: Black Knight , Wall of Souls , Typhoid Rats . Also, spend any extra mana throwing out the cheap late-game damaging framework: The Rack. Shrieking Affliction. The Meekstones can come out as well, since they protect against fatties swinging more than once.
  2. Attack the hand: Hymn to Tourach , Blackmail, Raven's Crime
  3. Empty the hands and keep them empty: Delirium Skeins , Bottomless Pit
  4. Spend the last few turns top-decking with opponent while The Rack and Shrieking Affliction whither them away. In the meantime, equip the Viridian Longbow to the deathtouch creatures for further control and make tactical attacks when safe.

Notes:
I've deliberately kept the land count low. The Dark Rituals help with this and the average CMC of the deck suggests a low count as well.

Useful combos:

  1. Typhoid Rats or Vampire Nighthawk + Viridian Longbow. Equip'ing the longbow with a deathtouch creature means death to any of my opponents creatures without combat :) Also, the longbow damage on the nighthawk gains me a point of life as well.
  2. Raven's Crime + top-decking a land. Easy way to turn dead draws into continued assault on the opponent and keep The Rack and Shrieking Affliction hurting him/her.
  3. Of course, Bottomless Pit s, The Rack, and Shrieking Affliction pound for lots of damage each turn and win.

I welcome any $40.00 deck challengers that can consistently win against my 40gutterWall :)
