Attempting to create something new. Harder said than done in today's world of magic. I feel like everywhere I turn formats are being dominated by some form of the same top 8 style deck. This deck is an attempt to find a way to break the competition without losing the decks true identity as a golgari midrange destroyer of worlds meets sustain type deck.

I have been working on this deck for quite some time now constantly tweaking and playing with new ideas for cards. I have most recently made the change of dropping a few of my bigger creature(at great heartache to myself) and adding in a bit more low mana cost removals like Geth's Verdict. This deck doesn't have too many weaknesses as it sits but I am constantly trying to improve. I am also in a spot where I don't actually have a competition type player base around me so the only competitive playtesting I have is against one other guy and his same few decks we run over and over. If anyone has suggestions I welcome them.

One issue I am currently having is agreeing with very meta-based suggestions. Like I said I am trying to make this original. I understand that the meta is the meta for a reason but I am trying to design a deck that can answer just about anything in game 1 then side in for more answers for game 2 and 3 while maintaining it's identity and remaining fun for me to play. There is a reason for each card in here and I am fairly hard headed and reluctant to change things but if you can sell me on why your idea will improve the deck I am all ears.
