Rimrock Knight

Creature — Dwarf Knight

Rimrock Knight can't block.

(You may cast Rimrock Knight from exile if you sent it on an adventure.)

Boulder Dash

Instant — Adventure

Target creature gets +2/+0 until end of turn.

(You may cast Boulder Dash for from anywhere that you have the permission to cast this, then exile it on an adventure instead of putting it into your graveyard. When you have not chosen to cast Boulder Dash, this card is treated only as Rimrock Knight in whatever zone it is in.)

(Example scenarios for Boulder Dash: You may cast this off of Melek, Izzet Paragon. You may not target this with Snapcaster Mage. Thalia, Guardian of Thraben increases the cost of this. Electrodominance requires X=1. You may cast this from a cascade spell if the spell has a cost greater than Rimrock Knight's cost. If you cast a Boulder Dash that another player owns, only you may cast the Rimrock Knight that gets sent on an adventure, not the owner.)

You gotta include a couple of Dwarven Mine and maybe some Dwarven Reinforcements. Seven Dwarves is bloody incredible, too!

I prefer Duergar Assailant over Dwarven Grunt, and Rimrock Knight or Plundering Barbarian could easily take a slot, too.

Could do worse, too, than Fire-Belly Changeling or War-Spike Changeling, though I feel they’re a little against the spirit of the deck, here.

Cute deck, good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions ThomB96. I like Rimrock Knight for this deck a lot! Brazen Borrower is also a good idea!! Thank you!

You could play on MTGA and not worry as much about prices. It's online so you can still play, and once you build up a collection you only need to spend a few wildcards now and then.

As for card suggestions, a fourth Magda seems necessary. Even if she's legendary, she's one of your best cards and will likely be removed quickly. Rimrock Knight is also good here as an aggressive dwarf.

Slaying Fire and Volcanic Geyser are pretty bad for burn nowadays. Frost Bite is a good one, and if you're really looking for that four damage, Thundering Rebuke gets you there. Shatterskull Smashing  Flip for a mana sink burn.

I can't imagine Bonecrusher Giant being bad here. He's not a dwarf, but he is one of the best all-around spells in red. I like the manabase, but you could use a few more lands if you're looking to get to Purphoros and other big creatures. Maybe a few more Castle Embereths as well. And while you're on equipment and aggro red, Embercleave !

Obviously if you're staying in paper, some of these aren't exactly budget.

Hello! Thank you for your advice on my budget deck. I had a few ideas that might work to help with yours as well.

I might swap out Arcane Signet for Everflowing Chalice . While Chalice doesn't get you red mana, it is a variable cost-efficient mana rock. You can burn down extra treasures to boost Chalice's multikicker to get enduring mana at a 1 for 2 ratio.

For boosting your dwarf tribal and getting more dwarves out, Brass Herald might be useful, I don't see it being as strong as Coat of Arms, but in the right situation it might compete with Obelisk of Urd.

I could also see Fearless Liberator being more useful than some of the dwarves you have already. Rimrock Knight also gets you some extra utility on a 3/1 dwarf which could be useful. Vault Robber seems ideal for Magda, as when she is out you can get two treasures on a single tap.

For draw, I think both Conqueror's Galleon  Flip and Trading Post could be quite useful. Conqueror's foothold can start out as a great blocker and dwarf tapper, and can transform into ramp, looting, card draw and card return. Trading Post can get you life, blockers, draw and return artifact cards, I could see it comboing particularly well with Spine and Meteor Golem.

Lastly... I don't think this is necessarily a good board wipe, but a fun one in combination with Magda and might work pretty good with your giant dwarves would be Brawl . If nothing else you get some treasures while everyone blows up each others creatures.

Gans on Boros Knights of Rowan

Hi! I'm glad that my comment helped u :) I think that u can cut Rimrock Knight, 1 land (since u have Knight of the White Orchid) and maybe 1 or 2 copies of Maul of the Skyclaves.

Another card that u may like is Valiant Knight, another lord for Knights, not as good as Knight Exemplar but a lot cheaper. Also, be careful with Benalish Marshal, since it specifically requires 3 White, it would not be rare that u can't drop him on turn 3 because u had, for example, 2 White and 1 Red (personal experience haha). U can fix that by adding dual lands that doesn't enter tapped to the battlefield, like Sacred Foundry or Clifftop Retreat, the second one being more accesible due to its cost.

Have a great day!

Hi :) I also bought Rowan's deck and I'm currently building a Modern Boros Knights deck. Here are some suggestion based on what I've learned. I like Fervent Champion, Venerable Knight, Inspiring Veteran and Acclaimed Contender, they´re very good cards that i also run! Another 1 drop that u might like is Student of Warfare. On the other hand, i noticed that u are not running two really good cards for Knights in Modern: Knight Exemplar and History of Benalia. The first one, although quite expensive, is the best lord for knights. History of Benalia gives u board presence with Knight Tokens and then buff all of ur knights. I suggest running 4 copies of each, replacing Benalish Marshal, Bonecrusher Giant and Rimrock Knight. Some cards that u can check are Gideon, Ally of Zendikar (Knight Token generator), Path of Exile (removal), Knight of the White Orchid (mana fixing), Dauntless Bodyguard (creature protection), Sigiled Sword of Valeron and Embercleave (both good equipments, but I personally prefer Embercleave). Finally, in ur Maybeboard u have 5 copies of Basri's Solidarity, remember that u can only run a maximum of 4 copies of a card. Hope this helps u :)

Fantastic_Mr_King thanks for the feedback! Rimrock Knight it's a great and budget card,I'll take it into consideration for this and others decks. I think about it and I will make some changes ^^

Hey Saccox! Me personally I would bring the Nivix Cyclops and Temur Battle Rage up to 4. Also, I think Zada, Hedron Grinder is too slow for this deck. Granted, I think you're playing the minimum amount of creatures, in my opinion (20), to take advantage of Zada's effect. I've been having a lot of success with Rimrock Knight in my Zada build. You can play him as a cheap threat or play him as a pump spell AND a cheap threat. Keeps the treat density high while providing more pump. I like the deck. I might make a non-budget version for modern.
