Mishra's Bauble interferes with cascade, the creatures hurt chances of getting delirium, and because so much stuff cantrips or draws cards, I fear Bedlam Reveler might not fit bc we might have a full hand most of the time. Also running any more creatures and Founding the Third Path risks whiffing. I do like Tolarian Terror tho. Gaea's Will is ok at best with See the Truth, I agree it isn't that great, and the deck could be improved by switching it, but it becomes a different deck at that point.

If we go to white we can run lightning helix which would help a lot, or even rip apart. Right now i think I will cut both Fire / Ice (I don't think they work with Founding the Third Path) and a copy of marauder and arcane proxy, run more answers... Thundering Rebuke?? Mystical Dispute?

[whatdidthecowsay] I thought about those, and will probably go with them after the rotation. Since the pathways are played in Pioneer I'm hoping to get like 80% of the cost of them back and will go to that later.

Still unsure what I'll actually do, there's a lot of other aggro at FNM that has single target removal (Thundering Rebuke/Abrade from a kid playing Goblins and my daughter, and Burn Down the House from my daughter) so a little bit of healing that doesn't come from creatures would go a long way. The Vow slow lands are generically better tho.

Healing Prayer's second ability needs a little tweaking. I'm not quite sure what, but removing counters is generally more of a black deal, as seen on Hex Parasite or Aether Snap, and I think the only precedent for removing counters from players is Leeches. The first ability is fair as an option. Maybe "Target attacking or blocking creature gets +4/+4 until end of turn," like a better Gallantry, but that's stepping on green.

Ancestral Foresight is on the stronger end as an uncommon, but not unreasonable. I think this could work.

Black isn't in the mana ritual business as much anymore. I like the idea, it's just off-color now.

I think Lightning Squall is still too strong. Compare to Flame Rift, Thundering Rebuke, or Lava Coil. 4 damage to any target at MV 2 with no drawbacks is probably too much. Lightning Bolt + the "can't be prevented" clause is likely worth 2 mana at uncommon (Skullcrack is the closest example right now), but that breaks from the "raise to 4" idea.

Giant Surge is pretty good. Is it a sorcery or instant? Monstrous Growth and Titanic Growth are the comparisons here. This effect as an instant would be pushing it, but I might just be too cautious here. Sorcery is the safe option.

You could play on MTGA and not worry as much about prices. It's online so you can still play, and once you build up a collection you only need to spend a few wildcards now and then.

As for card suggestions, a fourth Magda seems necessary. Even if she's legendary, she's one of your best cards and will likely be removed quickly. Rimrock Knight is also good here as an aggressive dwarf.

Slaying Fire and Volcanic Geyser are pretty bad for burn nowadays. Frost Bite is a good one, and if you're really looking for that four damage, Thundering Rebuke gets you there. Shatterskull Smashing  Flip for a mana sink burn.

I can't imagine Bonecrusher Giant being bad here. He's not a dwarf, but he is one of the best all-around spells in red. I like the manabase, but you could use a few more lands if you're looking to get to Purphoros and other big creatures. Maybe a few more Castle Embereths as well. And while you're on equipment and aggro red, Embercleave !

Obviously if you're staying in paper, some of these aren't exactly budget.

My main suggestion would just be to look for versions of your cards that do similar things for less mana. For instance, Soul Sear could probably be Lightning Bolt , Blazing Salvo , Mizzium Mortars , Thundering Rebuke , Roast , or Tears of Valakut if you're expecting flyers. Similarly, Dissolve and Ionize might be better as Spell Pierce , Counterspell , Hindering Light , Izzet Charm , Mana Leak , etc. depending on what you need to counter when.

The only other card I'll suggest (and I admit that it's a pet card of mine so I might be biased) is Myth Realized . It triggers prowess itself, grows from the same triggers as prowess, provides a mana sink in the late game, and is a creature that can conveniently dodge your own boardwipes whether they be Pyroclasm , Evacuation , or Wrath of God .

With Soulfire Grand Master and Soul-Scar Mage in play Thundering Rebuke has lifelink, but that only matters if it deal damage. If it targets a Planeswalker, that planeswalker will lose 4 loyalty and you'll gain 4 life. If it targets a creature, instead of dealing damage you'll place 4 -1/-1 counters on that creature and you won't gain any life.

Would Soulfire Grand Master still have lifelink when there is Soul-Scar Mage ? Say you cast Thundering Rebuke , with both of those creatures in play? What would happen?
