Quicksilver Gargantuan Discussion

ArchangelAlchemist on Damia Bodysnatcher

I suggest trading out Nature's Lore for Farseek, if you can cast either spell you've already got green and this lets you nab Watery Grave. Beacon of Unrest is a reusable Rise from the Grave. I wasn't aware you wanted clone effects but here are some good ones in your colors; Altered Ego, Lazav, Dimir Mastermind, Quicksilver Gargantuan, Sakashima the Impostor, Gigantoplasm, and Stunt Double.

Here are some cards that I might immediately cut:

Academy Elite, Aeon Chronicler, Bloodbraid Elf, Bogardan Hellkite, Breaker of Armies, Dragon Mage, Flameblast Dragon, Hamletback Goliath, Hermit of the Natterknolls  Flip, Horizon Chimera, Hypersonic Dragon, Inkwell Leviathan, Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, Keranos, God of Storms, Kruphix, God of Horizons, Lorescale Coatl, Magus of the Future, Melek, Izzet Paragon, Memnarch, Mindwrack Liege, Murkfiend Liege, Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind, Nylea, God of the Hunt, Psychosis Crawler, Purphoros, God of the Forge, Quicksilver Gargantuan, Rishkar, Peema Renegade, Scute Mob, Servant of the Conduit, Shipbreaker Kraken, Simic Sky Swallower, Somberwald Stag, Spellbreaker Behemoth, Spellheart Chimera, Surrak Dragonclaw, Talrand, Sky Summoner, Thassa, God of the Sea, Thromok the Insatiable, Tireless Tracker, Verdant Force, Vexing Shusher, Wall of Blossoms, Whisperwood Elemental, Wistful Selkie, Xenagos, God of Revels, Clan Defiance, Crater's Claws, Devastation Tide, Minds Aglow, Mizzix's Mastery, Reforge the Soul, Release the Gremlins, Seismic Stomp, Shamanic Revelation, Sylvan Scrying, Traverse the Ulvenwald, Unexpected Results, Urban Evolution, Volcanic Vision, Wheel of Fate, Arcane Denial, Clip Wings, Counterflux, Counterspell, Cyclonic Rift, Desertion, Disallow, Disdainful Stroke, Evacuation, Heroic Intervention, Insidious Will, Krosan Grip, Naturalize, Negate, Plasm Capture, Sulfurous Blast, Trap Essence, Turn Aside, Unsubstantiate, Visions of Beyond, Void Shatter, Voidslime, and TBH there are simply too many things to cut to list them all because my fingers are getting tired. I'd cut most of your planeswalkers, most of your non-ramp artifacts, and most of your enchantments.

My primary piece of advice here is that 1) You really should choose to prioritize abusing creatures OR spells, not both, because there are simply too few slots, and 2) you want your spells/creatures to do things in multiples. You don't need too much draw here because your mana is tied up doubling splashy spells, but you need a heck of a lot of mana ramp to keep up.

I don't mean to sound curt, sorry :( Hope this was at least a bit helpful! I agree with Lilbrudder that it's simply too many cards to reasonably cut down, and that you should take a little time and find a focus for the deck.

I would start by swapping the Contagious Nims out for Phyrexian Crusaders. I don't see double black being an issue with this build. Mathematically speaking you should have 2 black mana available on turn 3 most of the time and he can win games on his own. I also like Virulent Wound at least in the SB. Gives you a chance to handle most pesky 1 drops and mana dorks and gives a poison counter so you can start to proliferate on T2. It may not be a bad idea to consider some low cost counterspells also (I.e. Spell Snare, Spell Pierce, or even something like Remand to buy you time and draw a card.) Hope that helps. Just imagine having a Phyrexian Crusader in play and getting to drop your Quicksilver Gargantuan.

I love the ideas! Not sure how good Dovescape and Quicksilver Gargantuan would be, but Mindshrieker and Concerted Effort seem pretty solid

Quicksilver Gargantuan and Mindshrieker are both big, bad birds (or can be).

Dovescape can be an amazing card. So many birds...

Concerted Effort could be good if you throw in a couple equipments etc. with the appropriate abilities, but it really kills people when Commander Eesha gives every creature you control Protection vs. Creatures.

Quicksilver Gargantuan could be a great card to copy Blighted Agent or basicly any other infect creature.

Neotrup on Blade of selves with clone ...

Nothing special, assuming the Clone entered as a copy of something, Blade of Selves will just give it myriad and the tokens will be copies of whatever clone copied. If you want something interesting you can play Quicksilver Gargantuan, have it not enter as a copy, and then equip the blade to it. As the Gargantuan is it's original self, the tokens will enter as copies of it, and as such can now copy anything on the field, with you being able to make a different choice for each copy.

You should try Runed Stalactite! It turns one of your lords into another changeling. You might also be able to make use of Peer Pressure as creature theft that can't be disenchanted. Seahunter lets you pull out changelings from your deck at instant speed, while Higure, the Still Wind gives both evasion and tutoring. If you find you'd like a few more changelings, clone-type creatures are a decent alternative: Phantasmal Image, Phyrexian Metamorph and Quicksilver Gargantuan can all copy a changeling already in play... or your opponent's best creature, if he has something better.
