Your maybe board looks like one awesome deck. Your main would greatly benefit from including bits of it. Regardless, if you want to keep it under $50 I will try and offer some budget options you may not have considered. Quicksilver Gargantuan is a great Clone and pairs really well with Stolen Identity. Identity Thief is awesome with etb effects. I also like Sram's Expertise, Servo Exhibition and Raise the Alarm all solid token makers. If you start seeing some value in adding more instant and sorcery spells, Talrand, The Sky Summoner and Talrand's Invocation are both solid in that type of strategy. I did see the incovation in the maybe board but if talrand makes it in the invoaction is good too. Elspeth, Knight-Errant starts to get out of price range but is so good I had to mention her. A few good board wipes are Descend upon the Sinful Planar Outburst and Planar Cleansing. The cleansing makes your opponents so sad cause it hits mana rocks too. Judge's Familiar Spiketail Hatchling Spiketail Drakeling and Spiketail Drake are all good targets for copy effects and give that extra value since they are counterspells on a stick, and they fly! One last good thing to cover would be draw. Since you are lacking a little, Jace's Ingenuity and Opportunity are both great at instant speed and really net a lot of cards for the investment. Mind Spring is really good since it can dig so deep late game. Think Twice Catalog Artificer's Epiphany Tragic Lesson all instant speed and most do not require a discard.

The copy will be a 4/4.

The "except it's still (characteristic)" rules phrasing just means that the given characteristic won't be copied over from the original, and the card will instead retain its own base characteristic. The reason Quicksilver Gargantuan is written to say "except it's still 7/7" is because 99.9% of the time its base P/T will be 7/7. The card would work the same way if it said something like "except for that creature's power and toughness", but it would probably be way more confusing to the average player.

If I use The Scarab Gods ability targeting a Quicksilver Gargantuan, will the created copy be a 4/4 or a 7/7?

The reason I ask is that Quicksilver Gargantuan reads: "...except it's still 7/7." But it isn't in the first place! It's a 4/4!

Tyrant-Thanatos, Your reasoning is so off right now it's giving me a headache.

First off: Quicksilver Gargantuan copying a Tarmogoyf and staying a 7/7 has nothing to do with timestamps or layers. It's simply because it never gets Tarmogoyf's characteristic-defining ability as per this ruling:

6/1/2011: If the chosen creature has a characteristic-defining ability that sets its power and/or toughness, that ability will not be copied. For example, if Quicksilver Gargantuan copies a Nightmare, it will not gain the ability that sets its power and toughness to the number of Swamps you control. As such, it will remain a 7/7.

I now need to look through the comp rules to make sure everything works they way I think it does (hence, headache), so you're going to have to give me a minute.

I'm fairly certain it stays a 4/4. For the same reason a Quicksilver Gargantuan copying a Tarmogoyf stays a 7/7.

Levelers are weird though, so I'm not 100% sure on this one. Can anyone else confirm?

I suggest trading out Nature's Lore for Farseek, if you can cast either spell you've already got green and this lets you nab Watery Grave. Beacon of Unrest is a reusable Rise from the Grave. I wasn't aware you wanted clone effects but here are some good ones in your colors; Altered Ego, Lazav, Dimir Mastermind, Quicksilver Gargantuan, Sakashima the Impostor, Gigantoplasm, and Stunt Double.

I'd cut most of your planeswalkers, most of your non-ramp artifacts, and most of your enchantments.

My primary piece of advice here is that 1) You really should choose to prioritize abusing creatures OR spells, not both, because there are simply too few slots, and 2) you want your spells/creatures to do things in multiples. You don't need too much draw here because your mana is tied up doubling splashy spells, but you need a heck of a lot of mana ramp to keep up.

I don't mean to sound curt, sorry :( Hope this was at least a bit helpful! I agree with Lilbrudder that it's simply too many cards to reasonably cut down, and that you should take a little time and find a focus for the deck.

I would start by swapping the Contagious Nims out for Phyrexian Crusaders. I don't see double black being an issue with this build. Mathematically speaking you should have 2 black mana available on turn 3 most of the time and he can win games on his own. I also like Virulent Wound at least in the SB. Gives you a chance to handle most pesky 1 drops and mana dorks and gives a poison counter so you can start to proliferate on T2. It may not be a bad idea to consider some low cost counterspells also (I.e. Spell Snare, Spell Pierce, or even something like Remand to buy you time and draw a card.) Hope that helps. Just imagine having a Phyrexian Crusader in play and getting to drop your Quicksilver Gargantuan.
