Lashknife Barrier

Enchantment

When Lashknife Barrier enters the battlefield, draw a card.

If a source would deal damage to a creature you control, it deals that much damage minus 1 to that creature instead.

It is a good list. I am especially scared for Austere Command, as it can slap my poor poor artifacts while killing my board. Cathars' Crusade is also very scary. You might need some protection against blue and red decks which can get to you out of combat, but head-on your deck looks strong. Beware of Lavinia of the Tenth players tho, they will detain you booty and make you unable to do anything with your tokens (God those Azorius players can be a pain to deal with). Maybe get Crush Contraband instead of Return to Dust (easier to cast but slightly more limited). I you want to smake child labor decks like the player above me, run Lashknife Barrier or Orbs of Warding.

There are some great cards to use with Tajic, Legion's Edge to prevent damage to your team. Some suggestions are;

The Wanderer: Prevents non-combat damage like Tajic and can be used to get rid of Olivia Voldaren at the same time.
Hedron-Field Purists: Prevents 1 of any damage at all to you or your creatures and levels up to prevent more.
Lashknife Barrier: Prevents 1 of any type of damage to your creatures. And cantrips when you play it so it doesn't slow down your game too much.
Ajani Steadfast: Can be used to buff weaker creatures, gets more counters onto The Wanderer and the emblem is very strong.
Homeward Path:This can get your creatures back when they get taken.

There are a lot of extremely powerful timmy effects you can put in your 100 and dominate tables if not answered. Just go extreme style!

Fire Ants + Scythe of the Wretched + Basilisk Collar. Activate this once at any table for good times. It kills, at instant speed, every other creature in play, other than the Fire Ants, without flying. You gain life equal to 1 x number of creatures killed. Then all of the killed creatures are returned to play under your control with the last one returned getting equipped with the Scythe.

A more sedate, but powerful combination of cards is Spikeshot Goblin + Ring of Valkas or Forced Adaptation. Every turn for 1 mana you can deal the goblin's power to any target. And it keeps growing if equipped or enchanted with anything that grows it's power. Once it's bigger than your opponent's life total, you win for 1 red mana!

If you go black, then you can do something like this;

Crypt Rats + Eternal Thirst + Lashknife Barrier. Activate the crypt rats for 1, gain life equal to 1x total number of players and creatures, if anything dies the rats get +1/+1 counters for every creature that died. Lashknife Barrier means none of your creatures took damage. Let it resolve. Activate it again for 1, do it all over again. This will kill any number of creatures and players limited only by your Swamp count. If you have an Ogre Slumlord in play when you do this then your Crypt Rats now have deathtouch and you get 1/1 deathtouching rats for all the creatures that died.

Finally, my favorite timmy color, blue;

Horseshoe Crab + Hermetic Study is where it starts. Tap the crab, timmy for 1. Spend 1 blue to untap the crab and do it again! On your opponent's end step the crab makes all of your islands work like Hecatomb does for swamps! (Which you could also throw in a black deck for Timmy Lands!). But the crab gets better! Add Curiosity or Sigil of Sleep to the Horseshoe Crab + Hermetic Study setup leads to serious board states.

Lifelink on Crypt Rats has been one of my favorite, or at least entertaining to me, win conditions in a deck for many years.

Here is my deck that showcases the rats and synergistic cards with them: Born Among The Dead. It's not min-maxed but fun to play.

A great effect to land on the rats is Lashknife Barrier. It won't let you gain life from your own creatures, but they will stay around while everything else dies from your rat activations.

Or giving the Crypt Rats deathtouch from something like Ogre Slumlord lets them deal lethal for 1 black mana. If the barrier is on them then you won't even lose your creatures this way either.

Cool deck. I've always liked Crypt Rats, and was looking for decks that use it. Powerstone Minefield and Caltrops might be interesting. Powerstone Minefield I've loved for years, but I've never found a way to work it into a deck.

Also fun are cards that protect your creatures like Light of Sanction, Mark of Asylum and (maybe) Lashknife Barrier.
