Hello readers! I'm your host, Dr. Dakka, and today's top story are two old things coming together in a new way. Or at least, that's what the Sheriff's Secret Police have asked me to describe it as. This story is about Dimir Control, and while such a tried and true method of achieving victory has been done before, this time it has something to freshen it up. Introducing Nightscape Familiar and the wonderful effects it will have on your Dimir Control. This creature makes all of your red and blue spells cost 1 colorless mana less! While it's fragile 1/1 statistics may make it an easy target for cards like Firebolt or Sunlance the little guy can regenerate, meaning things like Fume Spitter are the only truly effect way to deal with him. With one Familiar out and about, he cheapens some of our best value cards, making them even more valuable!

More on this story, after Traffic. It's really bad out there, folks. Things like Mulldrifter and Sea Gate Oracle and are out and about, due to the cheaper cost to summon them. The incredible advantage they bring is more effective than ever, while helping keep a prescence and chipping away at people's lives. Rumor has it that Dinrova Horror have been seen coming from the forbidden Dog Park, thanks to the Familiars. Those spreading said rumors are being taken away by the Sheriff's Secret Police, so you should probably stop doing that. This has been, Traffic.

Back to our story, the Familiars have been helping out quite a bit in controlling problems all across town. Sone have access to Deep Analysis at a better rate for both of it's costs, while others are using Horrors, which or totally not from any certain Dog Parks, to help punish their enemies. Some things are not cheaper however. Things like a timely Chainer's Edict or a buyback Evincar's Justice are still great at controlling unwanted problems, even if at no discount. The familiars have been seen bringing in powerful artifacts, such as Bonder's Ornament to help with these costs. What a group of thoughtful familiars!

And now, a word from our sponsors. ALL HAIL THE GLOW CLOUD.

To end our story, we have been asked to discuss ways to mitigate issues your Familiar featuring Dimir Control might need to be deal with using alternative methods. Some issues are noncreature issues, so things like Duress and Negate are awesome for those! Certain people are experiencing Burn issues, and more Talismans can help, as well as Prohibit (which is also great against cheap aggressive issues or counter wars) and Hydroblast are perfect to cure burns along with the natural life gain your Control can apply. Finally, some awful graveyard based activities cannot be tolerated, or you just need more air support. Faerie Macabre will do just fine.

Some of you may not appreciate this variety of Control. Some of you don't like Vague Government Agencies with their Dimir Control taking over your meta. I would like to recommend some Grixis options to help spice it up even more. Have you tried Abrade with the Familiar? It's quite wonderful. Maybe a bit of Firebolt or Think Twice in combination with Faithless Looting or Tormenting Voice as well as more delve focused cards? The possibilities are numerous, this story is just a way to show you the power of Nightscape. Stay tuned next for more shenanigans.

Goodnight, Nightscape.....goodnight.
