I made a similar deck during Ravnica-Theros Standard and loved it. "I counter that creature I can't burn and then burn you for 3." It was gratifying to watch my opponent's options dwindle to nothing and even when they'd topdeck champion, I'd have a counter or burn ready. Counterburn is a fast-paced control deck that can go into the late game. It utilizes early burn and counter spells to get me into turn 5/6 when I'll play my planeswalkers and begin to win. Mindswipe takes the place of an end turn X costing spell. I'll use it to win my games by tapping out late-game to counter and burn to either 0 or an achievable life total. Imagine I've got them down to 14. Not much, but I burn them for 7 with a mind swipe. Sarkhan and Prognostic Sphinx attack, I give them +1/+1 and lifelink with Jeskai charm to put myself way ahead in case of a counter strategy or I just attack with either one and Jeskai Charm the rest of their life. Mindswipe is a card that I want to prove is usable. The deck will have trouble against midrange and hexproof, but that's why I included an extra banishing light, an extra end hostilities, and Deflecting Palms in the sideboard. Nullify is also there as a way to get rid of problem creatures early like an early siege rhino or brimaz. I miss control in standard as it's not very prevalent yet, and that's why I made this deck.
