The last few days I've been working on a Grixis control deck, A play style that I absolutely love.
Over the past week, I've been looking at other Grixis control decks around my area and decided that I wanted to make an upgrade on them, Although a few of these cards I dont have, I might decide to use what I've got and make a smaller budget version of this later on.
Starting with the Land base, I made a few changes to what everyone else around here has been using, I Added a few lands that gave me more control. Graven Carins and the Cascade Bluffs would give enough ramp.
After that I added a FEW more creatures, Although I've sideboarded a assortment of gods and added a rather annoying planeswalker that I love from my dimir control deck, Ashiok, figuring that he'd provide more pressure when he's on board. or she, I can never figure. I also tossed in my FAVORITE black spell, Cabal therapy. Because adding insult to injury is my favorite thing to do. I Didnt put a thoughtsieze in this deck although it couldnt hurt. I also went a little deep in the lightening bolts to make sure I push the CRUEL in the cruel control. burning the smaller guys down tends to give a better effect for me, Atleast when I'm tryn'a swing in and win. playing in that effect I'm adding in the gods to simply annoy anyone who I play with. I simply lay'em down and as I've learned in other decks that I've played, no one wants to deal with them, and god forbid that they CANT, you've got a SUPER annoying threat on board. if they cant deal with it, oops, New side effect for them; and just incase, I dont have enough creature to activate any of my gods. to be honest I dont have many in general outside a few value creatures that'll come in swinging or give me something that'll be a big help on turn 3 or 4.
I havent gotten a chance to test this just yet, But this is my small homebrew of Grixis control. In the next few days, I'll pick up what I dont have and I'll give it a try in the next few games. Leave me a few ideas or tips for this deck!
