Goblin War Cry

Sorcery

Target opponent chooses a creature he or she controls. Other creatures he or she controls can't block this turn.

Vial Smasher the Fierce is a goblin and could help throw some extra damage around. Mirage Mirror is great in any deck. Some anthems like Obelisk of Urd , Konda's Banner , The Immortal Sun and War Horn or even Ashenmoor Liege , Shared Animosity might help out the small bodied goblins. A couple lands worth considering are Rogue's Passage and Rakdos Carnarium . Legion Warboss should be slotted in as well as Warren Instigator . Goblin Smuggler and cards like Rogue's Passage and Suspicious Bookcase would be good at forcing some damage through. With that said Blood Mist should be in your list. Treasure Nabber ? Goblin War Cry ?

Goblins are small by themselves. So I think your best bet is gonna be anthems, buffs and combat tricks.

I like decks like this that have themes! I remember trying to make a "steal all your stuff" deck — that was fun. XD

Seismic Stomp alternatives

I have no idea what your meta is like, but a possible card in place of Seismic Stomp would be Destructive Tampering . It's 1 CMC more, but if artifacts become a problem for you, the added flexibility might be worth it. Possible sideboard card?

If you're in a flyer-heavy meta (in which case Stomp isn't very good), some alternatives for Stomp, all at 3 CMC, are: Goblin War Cry (and the creature they choose you can easily deal with), Incite Hysteria if you tend to face more one- to two-color decks, and Ruthless Invasion in an artifact-light meta.

If you want to stick with Seismic Stomp , then consider Falter instead. Same CMC and effect, but it's strictly better as an instant.

Tail Slash alternatives

Fall of the Hammer is 1 CMC less than Tail Slash and Soul's Fire can hit ANY target for the same CMC.

A possible win-con with Zada out would be Chandra's Ignition . You'll kill all your own creatures, too, so it's effectively a boardwipe (though with Otherworldly Outburst it's a one-sided wipe), but who cares when you're Fling ing multiple creatures with power 3 and 4 at your opponents' faces!! Good in multiplayer, if that's your jam. I'd only put in 1-2, since it has 5 CMC.

Other cards for Zada

Rile is amazing for drawing cards! Sure, it'll kill some of your smaller dudes, and the trample doesn't really matter to you. But it basically reads "{R} -- Draw cards equal to the number of creatures you control." For red, that's a good thing, especially to re-fuel in the late game. Maybe 1-2.

Dynacharge and Weapon Surge are easy to Overload if Zada isn't out, but with her out they cost less mana, which can matter quite often. First Strike is less of a big deal if no one can block, so Dynacharge's +2 is better, BUT Surge's overload is cheaper. Possible replacements for Otherworldly Outburst if you find the Overload useful.

Also, imagine casting either of those on the same turn as cards like Fall of the Hammer and Soul's Fire !

Suggest removing:

Footbottom Feast (Wort already returns Goblins to your hand every turn anyway)

Last-Ditch Effort (Goblin Bombardment does the job better)

Boggart Forager (his effect is kind of useless)

Kill-Suit Cultist (weak and situational removal)

Zo-Zu the Punisher (he doesn't really contribute to your game plan)

Horde of Boggarts (good card, but since this deck is multicolor, could be replaced with something stronger)

Goblin General (without ways to gain additional combat phases or create token copies of him, he's kind of weak)

Rummaging Goblin (bit expensive for a delayed effect, poor topdeck if your opponent removes it)

And either Beseech the Queen, Goblin War Cry, or Mob Justice.

Not a problem, hope these suggestions work out well for you! Good call on the lords, you should protect them. Krenko and Boggart Mob are crazy, for sure. Good luck deciding which cards to keep and which to cut!

As far as Ib Halfheart, Goblin Tactician and influencing your opponents' choice in blocking goes, there are a few cards that can help. Invasion Plans gets all of your attackers blocked, and in the exact manner you want (preserving your lords if they attack), but your opponents can choose a very bad blocking arrangement for you when they attack (especially if they want to kill off one or more of the lords), so maybe that isn't the best card. Melee allows you to completely decide how your opponents will block, but any unblocked creatures deal no damage, so this is great if Ib Halfheart is out, but not if you want to hit your opponents directly. Raging River and Stand or Fall divide up who can block, but you don't get to decide who does block. Retreat to Valakut lets you eliminate some blockers, but I suspect this isn't what you want with Ib Halfheart, Goblin Tactician. Goblin War Cry and Eunuchs' Intrigues make it so that one of your opponents can only block with one creature, and so they may feel blackmailed into blocking one of the goblins. I'm not sure if any of these do what you want them to. The keyword Provoke would be useful in this context, but it's only one one goblin, Goblin Grappler, so not super great for a combo with Ib Halfheart, Goblin Tactician.

Haha well since almost half of the creatures on Kamigawa were spirits, I think some of them would have to give up flying to finding better evolutionary niches and so forth. I'm not sure the exact reason behind many of the Kamigawa spirits being earthbound, though.

Happy deck building!

Well the Giant is just an insurance policy. It isn't super great, but with stuff like Light of Sanction and X burn spells that hit everyone...not really a good card for you after I think about it more. Goblin War Cry let's them choose one creature to block with. It's like Mark for Death but they choose and it is the only creature that can block. It wouldn't be unhelpful, but might not fight your strategy.

... I am hahaha, Oh man. I have no idea why I read that card as player, but I am very glad I'm wrong! War's Toll is 100% going in xD

Goblin War Cry would be good if it forced the creature to block. As is, if I wanted that effect, I'd stick with Mark for Death.

Why the Pallisade Giant? Looks like a good limited card, but I can't imagine it being anything in EDH. I also tend to steer clear of auras in EDH, as they often two-for-one me. The only auras I usually consider are ones that provide protection from either wraths or targeted removal.

Goblin War Cry could be hilarious.

A few cards I don't see here that you may want to consider:

  • Goblin War Cry: Nice thematic fit + a potential win-con if you have enough critters out.
  • Mob Justice: Along the lines of Impact Tremors & Massive Raid. Another potential kill card.
  • Roar of the Crowd: See above! Effects like this are clutch in any Krenko deck.
  • Goblin Wizard: Obscure weirdo goblin with decent abilities? Why not!
  • Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker: Arguably the ultimate combo goblin if that's your cup of tea.
  • Hellrider: Swarm synergy!
  • Marton Stromgald: More swarm synergy!
  • Voracious Dragon: Voraciously kill your opponent dead.

  • So there's some food for thought. I run all of these in my own Krenko build and have had great success with all of them. It looks like you're well on your way to building yourself a fun Krenko goblin party, good luck!
