Vela the Night-Clad

has come to Zendikar in search of willing subjects, and the Eldrazi Swarms have answered...

Vela divided her new subjects by their strengths, knowing that each would build on the others... She named each of her legions...

Assault Beasts

These are the Eldrazi Spawn and Drones that exist purely to attack, or to bolster the attack and defensive power of other Eldrazi. They include the defensive power-houses, like The Tide Drifter, power amplifiers such as Kozilek's Shrieker , and the Scion or Spawn calling creatures like The Drowner of Hope.

Devourers

Vela had a special love for her more voracious subjects... these creatures consumed everything within their reach. The slithering Benthic Infiltrator and unassuming Salvage Drone filled these ranks, denying valuable resources to Vela's enemies...

Manipulation Drones

The most devastating of Vela's minions, the Manipulation Drones, gave her a variety of benefits, or limited the abilities of her opponents...
They allowed her more spells, or limited the spells of others, in the form of The Sire of Stagnation and Prophet of Distortion. They provided her with more mana to bolster her ranks from Cultivator Drone s and dominated her enemies with Blinding Drone s.

Her Plan

+2Master of the Devoid

Vela's Intimidation passes on to her Eldrazi Subjects, and with them all being Devoid, they can only be blocked by Artifact Creatures. So long as Vela is on the field, her Eldrazi are almost unblockable. Her ability to cause damage as creatures leave the field is bolstered by the self-sacrificing Eldrazi Scions, and by the other flickering and blinking spells and abilities.

Vela's mastery of the devoid extended beyond the mindless Eldrazi, allowing her to cast such potent magics as Swarm Surge and Adverse Conditions , supporting her Swarm.
To keep her minions returning to the battlefield time and time again, Vela perfected the art of the Voidwalk and Ghostly Flicker, allowing her Eldrazi's abilities to work continuously.

-10The Future...

Her horde now formed, Vela could look towards building her strength. This was only the beginning of her grand design, in time her alliance with Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver would bear fruit, leading her Eldrazi to new Training Grounds, and finally establishing her own Coat of Arms...For now, she bides her time, gathering strength and experience as a General, always looking to the future.

This deck is a wallet friendly, very fun, themed deck with a lot of nasty tricks. It might not win a tournament, or dominate in every case, but it has a LOT of control elements and is capable of slowly whittling down your opponent while you reduce their options.

Any feedback is appreciated, but please keep in mind that I'm trying to keep this as a low-cost, fun, introduction to EDH style deck!
