Who are you most excited to build around in Dominaria?

Lots of new legends to pick from, who are you most interested to build and why?

I love the new Boros instant/sorcery guy but I'm still very hesitant to play Boros.

the new Radha looks fun and easy to abuse... especially in an elfball

To elaborate, consider Cultivator of Blades, Ezuri, Renegade Leader, elf token producers and, I supposed if your really wanna go full combo Aggravated Assault in it

Yeah Radha looks sweet even without elfball. Aggravated Assault for sure. Even just doubling your board state each turn with Tempt with Vengeance, Sylvan Offering, etc. seems very strong

3 of them kinda have my attention:

I've started theorizing on hallar with One Hallar Of A Kicker.

I'm not sure about it yet. It seems really cool but I think I'm going to need more kicker cards that feel good in commander. A bunch of them just feel like over costed garbage...

Valduk, Keeper of the Flame (https://scryfall.com/card/dom/XVKOF)- Interesting to me at least but what I really want before building this is more equipment like Dragon Throne of Tarkir. If anyone has suggestions for things like that I'm all eyes.

Torgaar, Famine Incarnate (https://scryfall.com/card/dom/XTFI)- He feels really cool. Black tokens, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Grave Pact. My goal would be to always pay for him. I do like the idea of being a little political with him too if someone is below half life I can bring them back up.

Hallar is interesting but I feel like he will have a very limited toolkit and thus while his own mechanics are cool, itll become probably difficult to build, at least imo, I dont know much on old kicker spells.

Valduk is real neato, would defo be strong in a voltron type deck

Torgaar is also interesting but I see where youre going, consider cheap cards that can multiply themselves too like Pack Rat, maybe?

With Radha, no matter how you cut it shes gonna be badass value village esque beatdowns all day, as I see it. Very strong gruul feelings off her too, lots of ramp meaning you can get out big creatures or spells quick.

I've been furiously brewing Firesong and Sunspeaker for the last 4 days! I'm estatic that Boros finally has a combo/value commander to build around!

The new multani because I'm a multani fan and his new card screams relentless CMDR

Multani, Yavimaya's Avatar

Legendary Creature-Elemental Avatar

Reach, Trample

Multani, Yavimaya's Avatar gets +1/+1 for each land you control and each land card in your graveyard.

, return two lands you control to their owners hand: return Multani from your graveyard to your hand

I'm looking at dumb lifeswitching shenanigans with Evra, Halcyon Witness. Stuff life, I switch her power with my life total, then my life total with someone else's life total, then punch a third player for 40 commander, with lifelink.

Suns_Champion do you have a deck list I can check out? I am very interested in his strategy but I'm still wary due to lack of consistent draw.

RedUndead40 yes, It's the first one so I'm really blazing my own path. Hopefully a few more lists will start popping up soon so there can be more discussion.

I'm being pulled in a lot of different directions, and there are a ton of potential great cards for this kind of deck. Mind is starting to form into an accumulated value/combo deck. See you there! :)

I'll probably be joining the overcrowded bandwagon and build Jhoria.

But my weapon of choice here is Jodah. He might not seem like much, but he can enable some nasty spells once you get all 5 colors, and I imagine he'd draw less hate than Ramos, Dragon Engine. To that end, I build a list with him and shoved in pretty much all my favorite multicolored cards.

List for reference.

Honestly Muldrotha, new Jhoira and Radha seem like the funnest builds.

Yep. I'm on board with Muldrotha as well. I really want to play sultai, it just seems like one of the strongest colours. But i do not like tasigur, thrasios or sidisi. The fact that you can play him and get lines like land, sol ring, phyrexian revoker out of your yard looks so fun.

Just updating from my post last night: I scrapped my current Jodah build. I want to try something cool with him but it's just new Jhoria for now.

Finally having a legitimate angel lord that can be my commander in Lyra Dawnbringer makes me happy. However, that deck is already built shell just take over the commander spot.

As far as something new its so hard to pick. I'm a brewer by nature. I have made a ton of decks in the past even though I knew I wouldn't get a chance to play them (playgroup hasn't been big into commander). So I kinda want to build a ton of them.

But Rahda, Jhoira, Aryel and Lyra... they kinda build themselves. I think the two I will have most fun figuring out will be Gruun, the Lonely King and Kazarov, Sengir Pureblood.

Gruun has a very obvious win condition so finding a way to get him onto the field and stick around sounds like a fun challenge.

Kazarov is the type of commander that is easy to ignore at a table because he costs so dang much and isn't an immediate threat when he does hit. But it will allow me to build a very rakdos feeling deck while not needing to be in vampires at all. I have been looking for a "goodstuff" rakdos commander that won't get me hated out or force me to play a certain type of deck and I think this dude (or dudette don't know till we see the art) will allow me to do that.

Phaetion, I think the best way to play Jodah is probably just to cast something guaranteed to win you the game the turn after you play him. Like Enter the Infinite with enough fast mana in the deck to combo out.

Of course, when people see that you win every time you untap with Jodah out, he's going to get a reputation really fast.

Personally, the one I'm most interested in is Slimefoot, the Stowaway. Any infinite mana combo that involves a sac outlet is automatic death with him, as well as any deathloop with saprolings. Reminds me of a mini Ghave.

Also, since no one's thrown any love her way, I'd like to point out just how easy it is for Marwyn, the Nurturer to go infinite with Umbral Mantle.

March 13, 2018 2:02 p.m.

Muldrotha tbh. It's like Karador but in colors I like a LOT more.

Muldrotha will probably be the first EDH deck I actually brew from the ground up and take seriously. Up until now I've just played with tweaked precons or casual shit I threw together when playing on paper. I'm interested enough in Muldrotha to put the money into building myself a solid paper EDH deck.

I'm very excited over Torgaar, Famine Incarnate and Evra, Halcyon Witness. I want to go tokens with Torgaar to always have a way to cast him for , and then some small recursion and evasion to get him in for the kill. With Evra I'd want full voltron with some real hate cards. Getting tired of graveyard shenanigans in my playgroup.

Man, not to be a sourpuss but I found the block a bit disappointing; the mechanics of many cards aren't terribly innovative (Muldrotha is nice and all but other than the Enchantment angle, its pool of relevant cards is largely the same as a lot of other commanders) and/or overly conservative from an EDH standpoint (hello Kazarov's CMC and active ability cost!). I do get that this format isn't the primary one so I hope the Standard people are happier than I am, and Helm of the Host is kinda interesting at least

Adeliz, the Cinder Wind. I made a fun PDH combo deck with her at the helm and have been converting it to regular EDH. Not really a combo player so it is something new to try.

Out of everything spoiled I found Hallar, the Firefletcher to be profoundly interesting and built a Kicker deck with them at the helm.

Other than that I intend on brewing a Valduk, Keeper of the Flame Voltron-y Impact type deck just for Casual fun because why not. Throw in Purphoros, God of the Forge, Impact Tremors, Warstorm Surge, and maybe even Pandemonium. I'm thinking maybe even Sundial of the Infinite so I can keep my tokens Valduk spawns
