Version 1.0 —Feb. 26, 2018

Added the upgraded Mana Rocks. Mana Crypt replaced Felwar Stone, and Mana Vault replaced Thought Vessel.

Added Wheel of Fortune in place of Viashino Heretic, a good card, but without a way to protect it or give it haste, not a good fit for this deck.

Added Hour of Devastation in place of Fault Line, as suggested in the comments.

Added Shattering Spree, took out Stoneshaker Shaman, a card that hurts me too much I think.

Added Nevinyrral's Disk, although I could see that getting replaced for Gauntlet of Might. Still not sure what to cut for the Gauntlet, it's getting really difficult. Really want Gauntlet of Power in here as well, may cut the MindStone for it. Having 4 mana doublers in here would be amazing.

If anyone has a suggestion for those final 2 cuts, or if you think it's even a good idea, let me know!

What about Cathartic Reunion?

Also, Magmatic Core pairs well with Braids.

I'm just building a Zo-Zu hate-everyone deck, I liked your approach, +1.

DominusArcanix Thanks! Still tweaking it, will probably add the Nev's Disk.

hfvalenz Cathartic Reunion always makes me nervous. A smart blue player will destroy you. It's a juicy Fork target for sure, but I'm not sure it's worth the potential downside. Magmatic Core just seems like a bad card by itself. I have other ways in the deck to spend Braid of Fire mana, and it's a weak combo anyway.

Sweet deck! +1 from another mono-red player!

Torpor Orb seems to non-bo with 3 or 4 of your own creatures. I wonder how often does that become a problem?

I really like From the Ashes in here. Good choice!

Shivan Gorge might be good, but I must recommend Field of Ruin and perhaps Ghost Quarter as they can get an extra land trigger.

16 artifacts might be enough to make Inspiring Statuary rally good here. Turns all your utility stuff into rocks. Great way to fuel a Comet Storm or Commune with Lava. You may need more artifacts for it to shine though.

Hope some of these help! Good luck!

Suns_Champion Thanks! I love mono red, and love the challenge of building it, especially one that isn't creature based. Though I do miss out on using Skullclamp

I don't see Torpor Orb as an issue. I only have 3 creatures in the deck that it affects, and none of them are essential. Simply hold onto them, or loot them away.

The idea for the land base was to run as few non-basics as possible. However, I do see Field of Ruin being pretty decent, since it has synergy with Zo-Zu, and sacrifices itself. Plus it's extra damage opponents will forget about. Added!

Inspiring Statuary has no place. Some of my artifacts don't even want to be tapped, and there isn't enough otherwise.

I see maybe 4 cards that interact with permanents without damage. What do you do against most artifacts/enchantment/indestructible creatures?

jeacaveo I mean, not much red can do about indestructible permanents outside of Chaos Warp, it's just reds weakness.

MrGirth_MTG Burn from Within and Hour of Devastation come to mind, but maybe they are too limited?

You can use some artifacts to compensate, but maybe that's just me. The deck just seems to be at the whim of the rest of the table to deal with troublesome stuff.

jeacaveo Those are certainly a consideration. And could maybe add Shattering Spree. Just need to figure out what to cut...maybe removing Fault Line for Hour of Devastation is a good idea.

Shattering Spree can take the place of Stoneshaker Shaman. Didn't like him much anyway.

As far as enchantments...that's someone else's problem.

MrGirth_MTG Hahaha, agree on enchantments being hard. Unless you go Scour from Existence or Spine of Ish Sah, all you have if Frenzied Fugue or Zealous Conscripts, and those are limited in use (since they don't get rid of 'global' enchantments).

Fault Line is instant, which is valuable, but I wouldn't know what else to cut in it's place.

jeacaveo I refuse to run those, makes me wanna puke. Feel free if you want to! :p

Losing Fault Line isn't a big deal, plenty of other burn and board clears in the deck. It didn't hit fliers, and hitting my own face wasn't exactly ideal.

Thanks for the help! I always think I have the deck perfect, but it never really is.
