Oh, I forgot to mention they have no mana up on your turn with Stoneshaker Shaman = no counter spells or shenanigans.

Spawning Grounds? Don't think that's modern legal.
Also, I already made this deck a few months back, but you are welcome to take anything you need from it.
I see you went with a lot of creature-based hate and I'm not to say whether that's the best version.
I do think my deck works in that I can hide behind Bridge and wipe for creatures, which is more effective on a per-card basis.
Finally, I think red and Stoneshaker Shaman really make the deck. Basically, opponent will either tap all their lands and lose 4-6 life a turn, or sac a land per turn. Brutal stuff, and it gets around problem of trying not to tap their penalized lands.

I would file lando under oppressive.
I hate anything that doesn't let a person play magic, and nothing will take me emotionally out of a game faster than a super oppressive deck.
I feel that if you only have fun when nobody else is allowed to play, then just play with yourself since that's all you're really doing anyway.
Back on subject, I've played in some LGS's that ban Annihilator, infect and infinite combos that don't immediately win.
I've also played where they don't allow certain commanders that aren't on the official banlist that are just too powerful.
Honestly, it all just depends on your playgroup, but I would suggest playing Worldgorger Dragon while floating enough mana to play Jokulhaups, killing everything and getting all your permanents back for the kill shot. The only thing with that strategy is someone will inevitably start running Sadistic Sacrament to get rid of it.
To answer the ramp thing, I would do From the Ashes, it doesn't count as lando, because they can get basics. There's also a card that deals x damage to opponents where x is the number of nonbasic lands they control, or something. It might not be mono-red, but I know it exists.
Also, Stoneshaker Shaman makes them sac an untapped land. Just one a turn, but enough to be annoying.
I'm sure there's more, but that's what I can think of right now.
Post Script: You might want to change your style and add another color. Mono-red is the hands-down weakest color in commander

I've been watching a lot of pleasantkenobi lately, and last night i had an idea. Is it possible to have mono-red taxes? I did a quick search of attrition cards that are mono-red, and found a surprising amount of them.
The first card that came to mind when i started searching was Manabarbs . After it hits the table, if no damage was done until then its a 20 mana limit on the game. and in modern people run shock lands, fetch lands, and other cards that sacrifice life for effects.
The next attrition strat would be land destruction. With that search I found some pretty cool cards. Stoneshaker Shaman , Akki Blizzard-Herder , Avalanche Riders, Crack the Earth ?, and Thoughts of Ruin were the ones i liked. ( Stoneshaker Shaman + Manabarbs is sick BTW.)
Lastly, card draw. Unfortunately the only card i found that could punish for card draw that could be played in mono red was Spiteful Visions .
I'm rather new to modern, so i don't know the format that well. Just throwing these cards together in a deck with 4 Lightning Bolts wouldn't work, so I'm asking for some advice. Thanks!!

Sounds to me like you're wanting more of a punisher deck. Mogis, God of Slaughter would give you access to black and other pain spells like Polluted Bonds, Painful Quandary, Bloodchief Ascension ect. Also offers more draw and more control.
Otherwise to really screw over control decks, Mono-red excels at mass land destruction. Couple that with "damned if you do, damned if you don't" type spells like Spellshock, Manabarbs. This will also work well with Mogis. Purphoros is built to be all in and fast. If Purphoros gets out early enough then control decks may have a rough time stopping him. Especially with Price of Glory, MLD, Stoneshaker Shaman and Citadel of Pain, ect.

How many cards can you think of that are mean to "mean" players? I want to build a deck that forces opponents to win in "fair ways", and I'd love help finding cards for a deck like this!
Using MagicalHacker - List of All Anti-Tutor Cards, MagicalHacker - List of All Gold-Hate Cards, MagicalHacker - List of All Anti-Infinite Cards, and MagicalHacker - List of All Anti-Control Cards, I found these cards (organized by color):
Based on those cards, I think I'm going to build a gruul deck using Ruric Thar, the Unbowed as the commander or a cheap commander that can help ramp me into my cards (Radha, Heir to Keld). Some questions:
- Are there any other cards for gruul that you think would fit this theme?
- Are there any reasons to choose something other than gruul?
- If gruul is the best for this, what gruul commander should I use, and why?
