This deck is very solid man. You have clearly put in a lot of thought for its build and in the 3 games I played against it you were dropping brutal Soul Sister + HoTP + Spectral Procession combos constantly (while Ranger of Eos comes in to add ascendants for aggression or sisters if they have been wiped).

Ajani Goldmane and Serra Ascendant of course are easy, fast beaters and its crazy how quickly you gain life and deal damage. If I were to make any suggestions, it would be to try and mainboard some Brave the Elements (I really am a fan of that card, it single-handedly wins games). When I played against your deck with mine the only thing that let me win was the colour prot it granted me to bypass all of your creatures.

You pretty much have all of the cards that you need for a WW-lifegain deck in modern. You arguably could take out Aven Mindcensor but as you said in your description you are keeping him in for your current meta. Maybe you could add a Sword of Fire and Ice or two to mix things up? Protection is IMO the most broken ability you can give a creature in magic and white abuses it better than any other color.

Other than that awesome, +1 to a fellow white mage! :)

+1 Impressive Deck. Someone would have to kill you 2 to 3 times to actually kill you.

Life gain, ugh, that's why I dread playing White sometimes. HA!

Nice Soul Sisters build -- I like it a lot. It's a very straightforward and simple strategy, but it works really well. +1

Like the deck.. Have you ever thought about trying Children of Korlis ? I've always thought it could make a good fit in this kind of deck. +1 and good luck at PTQ.

Interesting...but I think its uses are still a little limited. The old Proc based decks used to play Kami of False Hope for a similar effect (though the children have more synergy with the deck), though those decks used Proclamation of Rebirth for recursion.

I'll test him tonight, but ultimately I'm not to sure where I can fit it.

Thanks for the encouragement. :D

Have you considered adding Rhox faithmender

No, the deck doesn't need it; as the deck is aggressive, not durdly.

Hmm, this deck has gone through some changes since I last peeked at it. Have you ever thought of using Emeria, The Sky Ruin ?

Emeria, The Sky Ruin and effects like that are generally a lot worse than they used to be, thanks to Deathrite Shaman .

Immortal Servitude might be good since you have 4 good targets for it.

I don't particularly like Mikaeus, the Lunarch in here, but I suppose it's your call.

Oh, also, Auriok Champion gives you a third Soul Sister that dodges Abrupt Decay, Lightning Bolt, and etc.

The problem with Auriok Champion is that she disrupts the curve slightly of like sister in Pridemate into Procession, etc. Those bonuses are good, but I feel the Mirran sister is slightly better in midrange builds.

Mikaeus is mostly just a big guy with upsides, that can be fetched with Ranger of Eos, so he has occasional use in the late game. That said, he's spot is usually interchangeable post board.

As for Immortal Servitude, I've yet to play with it, so I'm unsure; I was never much of a fan of the Proclamation of Rebirth versions of this deck, but perhaps the Servitude serves a better purpose here.

This deck is still looking awesome. How come a full set of Ranger of Eos and only 3x Soul's Attendant ? Also have you found the deck has been able to operate OK running on only 3x Path to Exile ?

Oh and with the new legend rule that's coming, you'll be able to use up both Flagstones of Trokair for mana before they sacrifice each other. So you can now safely run 4 if you want to.

This deck is real good. I built it pretty much verbatim, and it is a force. Good job indeed.

I would agree with topshelf.. I built this deck almost verbatim and it is a solid competitive deck! 2 thumbs up!

What about using Cathedral Sanctifier for the fast 3 life that can be pulled back into play with the Immortal Servitude ? Two sisters each and two of her net 14 life on the one four mana spell.

I know it changes your mana curve significantly but have you thought of Archangel of Thune for this deck? She loops well with Mikaeus, the Lunarch so that you never have to tap him to add counters and essentially turns all your creatures into Ajani's Pridemate too.

Have you considered Kataki, War's Wage for the affinity match up?

would there be any merit in splashing black for Lingering Souls over the Squadron Hawk i know it means you need fetches and shocks but i think it provides more advantage than the hawks imo

Dyredyre says... #21

Squadron Hawk is fodder, both in the hand and on the field, getting a hawk out, refilling your hand with hawks then using Martyr of Sands to get back in the game is a great feeling. I too am playing soul sisters, I was reading this to find helpful information and/or ideas for my variation. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/07-05-14-soul-sisters-1/

So what is Elspeth sided in for? I know she's good in the deck, but why not just mainboard her?

June 9, 2014 11:16 p.m.

ipslne says... #23

I imagine Elspeth is sided in for potential matches against decks that could out-agro this one. She's a more permanent way to keep the life flowing while generating blockers for herself. (ofc I didn't create this deck, I'm just assuming.)

Emeria, The Sky Ruin now that Deathrite Shaman has been banned. I don't think you'll regret it.

I'd also like to point out that Lingering Souls , while one of my favorite reasons to be splashing B, would throw this deck way off curve. While a better choice than Gather the Townsfolk / Raise the Alarm / Midnight Haunting , all of the above sort of wreck the theme of the deck and I can see it getting all sorts of clunky play.

July 31, 2014 7:16 p.m.

I didnt take the time to read all the comments but why not splash red for Norin the Wary with Champion of the Parish on top?
