This is a midrange control deck with a variety of strong combos: Aether Vial+Cryptic Command/Familiar's Ruse+Eternal Witness for a continuous counter spell lock out. Grim Flayer or Serum Visions + Nissa, Steward of Elements for a clean way to stack the top of the deck for Nissa's '+0' consistently and predictably. Grim Flayer compliments Eternal Witness by filling the grave with gas. Grim Flayer also compliments Tarmogoyf with a fuller graveyard and hence bigger Goyfs.

The deck looks to use counter magic and removal to open the path for connecting with the creatures on the field. Aethervial plays a huge part in this deck as it provides countless value moments by ambush blocks or using spells from the grave with Eternal Witness or Snapcaster Mage to gain major flexibility. It can often be the difference between out aggroing another midrange deck and out controlling a control deck.

I'm still working on making a side board for this deck, at this point I would fill it with a few more counterspells, removal, and maybe some specific tech for hyper aggro decks.
