Welcome to the New Temur!
GURwb brew for the new BFZ standard.
I believe that unlike in THS-KTK standard, KTK-BFZ shows promise for the Temur! We can utilize creature ramp to put out 6/6s with vigilance and trample as early as turn 3 and 8/8s with flying, trample, and a rather useful ETB effect as early as turn 4.
Any feedback, ideas, etc., would be very helpful! Now for the decklist breakdown:
The Lands:
The interesting thing abut this land base is the lack of Wooded Foothills, a staple of red/green decks. However, in this metagame, that card cannot fetch us blue mana, critical for out deck, and it is almost twice as much as what we run instead:
2x Bloodstained Mire
2x Windswept Heath
With these lands, we can fetch any core color of mana in out deck, and one additional color for converge purposes. We do this with one of each nameless land:
1x Canopy Vista
1x Cinder Glade
1x Prairie Stream
1x Smoldering Marsh
1x Sunken Hollow
In addition, we run four of our triland for fixing, and a total of ten basic lands in temur colors for the synergies they have with our nonbasics, as well as a singleton manland in lumbering falls:
4x Frontier Bivouac
4x Forest
3x Island
3x Mountain
1x Lumbering Falls
The Creatures:
We run eight mana dorks in this deck. Rattleclaw Mystic is the cheapest in our colors and can be morphed for a ramp of two on turn four if need be, and Shaman of Forgotten Ways gives us double the mana, in any color (excellent for converge) with the minor drawback of not being able to use it on noncreature spells or abilities:
4x Rattleclaw Mystic
4x Shaman of Forgotten Ways
We run playsets of two converge-based creatures, as both are excellent value, with Skyrider Elf being essentially a five-mode spell and Woodland Wanderer being ahead of curve at three or more colors, and because converge is a theme of the deck theme of the deck:
4x Skyrider Elf
4x Woodland Wanderer
As well as four other excellent creatures as curve toppers, (Shaman of the Great Hunt+Ability can top a curve in stalled board states):
2x Dragonlord Atarka
4x Sagu Mauler
3x Surrak Dragonclaw
The Planeswalkers:
We also run five planeswalkers in total. Both double as repeatable ramp and card advantage with the ability to provide additional bodies if we need it. Both are fantastic in this deck, and I always want to have the option to play one by the time I have enough available mana:
3x Kiora, Master of the Depths
2x Sarkhan Unbroken
The Spells:
Most of out spells are sideboard, the ones that aren't are removal and once the meta develops fully and we can [evaluate matchups better, these cards (as well as the unfinished sideboard) will be changed to those that best even up unfavorable MUs:
4 Roast
2 Crater's Claws
Thank you!
