Sideboard

Maybeboard

This deck focuses on recycling creatures from the graveyard and utilizing creature sacrifice. This deck is mainly made up of creatures, but many of them have abilities similar to instants/sorceries (ssuch as killspells, creature revival, card draw, etc) The more creatures that die (on either side of the field) the more life and benefits you gain. You win either by overwhelming your opponent with you undead forces, or by draining your opponent's life with card effects.

Ayara, First of Locthwain - nice at draining your opponent of life. You can do this either by casting creatures or by simply summoning them from the graveyard. The draw sacrifice/draw ability is very good at keeping a steady stream of cards in your hand. Works well with Grim Haruspex.

Cadaver Imp - great early creature retrieval. The Imp acts as a chump blocker that can also defend against flying. Works with Cavalier of Nigh.

Cavalier of Night - versatile attacker/blocker. Lifelink is a nice feature. Great ability to remove a single threat (the sacrificing can also be in your favor). You gain benefits even when this creature dies.

Deathbringer Regent - acts as a boardwipe. Is also a large flying smasher.

Deathgreeter - early creature drop. Makes all the destruction on the battlefield beneficial to you. Having multiple on the field makes lifegain crazy.

Doomed Necromancer - easy way to cheat creatures into play, even on your opponent's turn. Can Works well with Cavalier of Night and Liliana, Defient Necromancer.

Dreadmalkin - Early creature drop that can gain power quite quickly.

Grave Titan - powerful creature that can take a chunk out of your opponents life points. The zombie spawning ability works nicely with Ayara, First of Locthwain.

Grim Haruspex - makes sacrifice worthwhile. Having multiple down means that you will never run out of cards.

Liliana, Heretical Healer   - a very effective creature/planeswalker. It's first planeswalker ability makes it easy to cheat expensive creatures into play. The second ability is yet another rivival ability that works in tandem with its first ability as well as any other sacrificing abilities. The third ability doesn't necessarily win you the game outright, but will certainly increase your chances. The nice thing about this planeswalker is that it can returned from the dead with creature revival.

Perilous Myr - this creature is great to sacrifice when your opponent has a creature that needs to be killed. Otherwise, it is a good chump blocker and deals damage to your opponent or your opponent's planeswalkers.

Reiver Demon - similar to Deathbringer Regent in function. This boardwipe creature will spare your own creatures.

Shriekmaw - acts as an early killspell that can be reused with creature revival. Rarley is it played for its actual mana cost.

Sidisi, Undead Vizier - Good for searching up cards that you need. If you sacrifice Sidisi to his own ability he be reused with creature revival.

Viscera Seer - a cheap creature with an amazing ability. The sacrificing ability is great because it requires no additional cost other than that of a creature. Thi ability not only helps with getting cards that you need but also makes it difficult to target your creatures with spells and abilities. Combos nicely with Grim Haruspex.

Bontu's Monument - Similar effect to Ayara. Both cards can combine to deal lethal damage every time you play a creature. The passive ability that reduces creature cost is a very nice feature. This will help with either playing expensive creatures on earlier turns, or playing several cheap creatures together.

Cabal Stronghold - can amass you mana quite well.

Westvale Abbey   - a useful land that can transform into a devastating demon. Sacrificing five creatures is steep, but there are plenty of small cheap costing creatures in this deck.

Turn one play Viscera Seer, Dreadmalkin, or Deathgreeter. Turn two play Perilous Myr or Shriekmaw if a threat needs to be removed. Turn three gives you several options depending on what is in your hand. you could play a Doomed Necromancer to set up creature revival or Grim Haruspex to set up card draw. You could also activate the ability of Dreadmalkin. Turn four gives you the chance to activate the ability of Doomed Necromancer. Turn five and beyond is when you can play more expensive and potent spells. The bigger you make your army, the harder it will be for your opponent to deal with you. Even if their creatures are more powerful, it will be difficult to get past your wall of blockers.

Cadaver Imp + Cavalier of Night = Infinite creature cycling. Have Cadaver Imp on the field, then sacrifice it to Cavalier of Night to destroy a creature. Then when Cavalier dies, you can return the Imp back to the field, and when it does you can return Cavalier back to your hand. This combo relies on the amount of mana in your position. You may have to play this combo only once each turn. Whet will be required is either a substantial way to kill Cavalier of Night or use him as a blocker against a large creature.

Doomed Necromancer + Cavalier of Night = very similar combo to the one above. The difference is that you do not have to play Cavalier of Night from your hand again. Instead you only need to pay one mana to revive it.

Viscera Seer + Grim Haruspex = Essentially acts as an Serum Visions engine. you sacrifice a creature, the first thing to trigger is Grim Haruspex, so you draw a card, then you scry with Viscera Seer.

Dreadmalkin + Perilous Myr = Turn one play Dreadmalkin. Turn two play Perilous Myr. Turn three sacrifice the Myr to Dreadmalkin. Then deal 2 damage to any target and then attack for 3 Menace.

Ayara, First of Locthwain + Grim Haruspex = draw two cards every time you sacrifice a creature to Ayara.

Not much of a sideboard yet. Still working on it.

I am happy to receive suggestions of cards and/or other control combos. I am looking to make this deck more effective while also keeping the theme of the deck.
