Bontu Pyromancer (Modern MTG Deck)

A variation on the Mardu Pyromancer deck. The Bontu deck includes elements from B/R Hollow One. On paper the deck seemingly has a very high mana curve. During play however, only Bontu, Lingering souls and the flashback effect of Faithless Looting are 3 drops. Everything else is 2 CMC or less. The deck kan function adequately on 3 lands and despite a decklist with only 18 lands, the 8 draw spells, allow the deck to hit landdrops with some consistency.

The deck is designed to slow down your opponent though discard spells and removal. The Revelers are added simply to gain late game card advantage. The deck consistently has 6 spells in the graveyard around turn 4 or 5. The goal of the deck is to land Bontu and either start sacrificing tokens to sculpt your deck and hammer your opponent or using the combo of Flamewake Phoenix and Bontu, which works pretty well. Bontu sacrifices flamewake - which then returns and attacks with Bontu.

I'm still considering adding Liliana maindeck or even exchanging the Anglers for Chandra, Torch of Defiance. I'm also contemplating adding a single Hazoret, the Fervent.
