I saw BUDGET 8 Rack Mono Black Control a while ago, and was really impressed with it. I had racks in paper, and the rest didn't seem so bad. Right now I am playing more MTGO than paper, so ran this up on there.

It takes the simple 8 racks of The Rack and Shrieking Affliction and adds some discard punishment in the form of lilianan's caress. I am testing out Nezumi Shortfang and so far I like what I see. In the future, I am probably going to pick up a playset of Thoughtseize and maybe some Imp's Mischief for sideboarding.

It has decent spot removal, and very little in the way of boardwipes. Mutilate does work, but it might have to go to 2 of instead of 1 of. Damnation is out of the budget for a while.

For sideboard explanation, Kozilek, Butcher of Truth is against mill, even if it does get surgically extracted. Ghost Quarter comes in against tron or infect with a nexusSurgical Extraction does good against someone running a Gifts Ungiven or Mindslaver package.. Not a whole lot of hate right now against burn or affinity, but the sideboard is definitely a work in progress.

1st modern MTGO deck, and 4th modern deck overall. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
