Some obvious upgrades are and Shock Lands

For budget, cut the lands and some sideboard cards that might not be good for your meta and you'll cut off ~$20-30 dollars

Mainboard - 3x Cast Down - Kills most creatures, and an alternative to DF Poisoner

  • 4x Deadeye Tracker - Surveil and Overgrowth will make this card much more relevant in the coming meta, not to mention it's a good turn one and mana sink.

  • 3x Dire Fleet Poisoner - Good Combat trick and Pseudo removal, Ambush Pirate is dope

  • 4x Forerunner of the Coalition - MVP of this deck, let's you toolbox pirates like a beast and also wither your opponent with it's second clause.

  • 1x Hostage Taker - Steal your opponent's stuff? What kind of pirate wouldn't? best as one-of and great tutor target

  • 3x Lookout's Dispersal - Pirate Mana Leak, 'nuff said

  • 4x Ruin Raider - Pirate Dark Confidant, card advantage engine, most cards are low curve so not too painful

  • 4x Siren Stormtamer - Counter spell on a 1-drop what's not to love? It can kill a Settle the Wreckage for 1 blue!

  • 3x Siren's Ruse - Probably the coolest combat trick, can make a blocker out of nowhere and draw cards, underrated card IMO

  • 4x Thought Erasure - Sort of a standard Thoughsieze, and surveil one is good too

  • 4x Warkite Marauder - This card is so excellent, it can fight through Rekindling Phoenixes and and can take their ability away for your removal

23 Lands - Enough to get to 4-5 consistently without flooding out in my experience

  • 4x Drowned Catacomb

  • 2x Evolving Wilds

  • 4x Unclaimed Territory

  • 1x Field of Ruin

  • 6x Swamp

  • 6x Island

Sideboard

  • 1x Cast Down - Finish the playset

  • 4x Duress - Cause U/W control sucks

  • 4x Kitesail Freebooter - Pirate Duress

  • 1x Price of Fame - An extra and situational removal spell

  • 2x Ritual of soot - Good against go wide/tokens might wanna switch for River's rebuke depending on your meta

  • 2x Sorcerous Spyglass - Cause Teferi

  • 1x Storm Fleet Spy - For when tutoring Ruin Raider hurts too much, usually aggro
