Sideboard

Here's my take on the new 'Bogles in Standard' archetype that's been popping up left and right. The deck 4-0'd at my local Standard Showdown on its first tour, canning UG Dinos, Esper Tokens, Mono Red and BG Energy with relative ease.

Your gameplan is straightforward. Jam resilient small creatures, grow them into big problems for your opponent by loading them up with enchantments, and smash face. Curious Obsession and Sram, Senior Edificer keep your hand stocked while you flood the board with cheap threats. The deck is capable of snowballing into the City's Blessing as early as turn 3, by fielding multiple permanents at low cost with enchantments like Cartouche of Solidarity and Legion's Landing  . Once you get there, closing games is a matter of outvalueing the opponent by overloading their spot removal and simply drawing more cards. Read for a bit more of an individual card breakdown.

It's hard to squeeze too much real innovation into Jim Davis's original list, as the CMC of your spells is restricted by the 20-land mana base and the requirement of a pretty even split between cheap creatures and enchantments. I've mostly tried to make the deck more resilient to targeted removal by slotting in two copies of Siren Stormtamer. The card has not disappointed me so far as insurance against Settle the Wreckage and an additional flying beater. I've also maindecked Squire's Devotion at the cost of 2 copies of Cartouche of Solidarity. The card sits lonely at the top of your curve but absolutely hoses aggro; giving your Adanto Vanguard lifelink is big game that other linear decks will struggle to beat. Finally, I think Dive Down is much better than Sheltering Light as the latter offers no protection from exile effects, and you are already playing a number of semi-indestructible creatures.

The sideboard is still a mess and needs work. Cast Out may simply be too expensive, although I can see bringing it in against unfair strategies like God-Pharaoh's Gift or The Scarab God. Baffling End is narrow, but comes in when the opponent has the ability to race you with creatures. Negate and Spell Pierce are most likely your most important tools against control decks looking to sweep the board. The other slots are flexible, suggestions welcome.
