Halcyon Glaze

Enchantment

Whenever you play a creature spell, Halcyon Glaze becomes a 4/4 Illusion creature with flying until end of turn. It's still an enchantment.

You guys can hype up whatever you want. I only care about two things. Fixed Smuggler's Copter (probably closer to Halcyon Glaze, actually, one of my pet favorite cards) and Unsummon reprint. I don't even play control all that often.

Icbrgr on It's just an illusion, so why are you seeing this?

Spellskite seems like a pretty good idea.. i also run illusions in real life and i never thought of that (you can check out my primer on my page if ya want).... some things i run differently from you is Monastery Siege the option of having the draw or stave off targeting spells comes in handy and Muddle the Mixture is good for tutoring you Lord of the Unreal and others. personally im not a fan of Illusionary Servant have you considered Illusory Angel or Halcyon Glaze?

as far as splashing thats new territory for me though and good luck fellow Illusionist!

sanobanat0 on Yes, I can tutor about half of my deck.

I'm building an Isperia Commander deck right now, but the old Ravnica was the first block I ever bought, so I am really excited about the way you built this. Some cards that would be good in this deck are Telepathy, Wandering Eye, Glasses of Urza, and Halcyon Glaze.

Hey, Your creatures are alright. You need to concentrate your spells on the earlier part of your curve. Because your creatures are all so low to the ground, you can probably afford to go with 22 land. Make them all islands, because you really want to be able to stick a bear turn one. If you are shooting for a competitive modern build and don't sinking your cash into cardboard stocks, pick up 4 cavern of souls and run those along side 18 island.

Cut Consign to Dream, Spell Pierce, and Summoner's Bane. Consign doesn't do anything; you are playing too few lands for you to really be able to play it with any consistency. Bane is too slow a counter, leaving up so much mana is conspicuous, especially when this deck wants to cap out. I'm not high on Mind Control either.

Increase Vapor Snag and Mana Leak to a four of. Those spells are your interaction. Cryptic Command is really good because it is both of the cards in one, and more. Consider that to be a four of also, if you can afford it. I have never played with Halcyon Glaze but it seems like it might be okay. I'd probably test with four. Off the cuff, it seems like a reasonable card for the deck, but not the sort of card you want too many of in your opening hand. It doesn't do anything.

Muddle the Mixture is a marginal card, but it 's there so you can tutor your lord, I see. I've never played with it, but my inclination is to see if there is a better card out there that does what you need. If not, then if you feel that "2: draw target lord of the unreal" is a reasonable effect, run four. A lot of deck construction comes down to consistency, and in this case, your running it for 4 extra copies of lord.

You say you want modern and if so, you have to cut mistform warchief. I have no idea what with.

Halcyon Glaze will stay. It's a personal favorite card of mine. That and since this is an aggro deck, it beats faces and is slightly harder to remove than a creature. Ice Cage stops blockers, attacks, and certain pesky activated abilities that would target my illusions pre-lord. This deck can win t5 and most board wipes usually come after that... Just saying. In my experience, counters just slow me down. I would rather use my mana to play a creature than a counter.

I like it! My only suggestion is to replace some enchantments like Halcyon Glaze and Ice Cage with some counters like Negate and Mana Leak to protect you from things like Wrath of God or worse and make room for more basic lands or Mutavault so you can play threats as well as have some mana open for a defensive play
