I got kind of intrigued by the idea of this deck, so threw a quick decklist together: Rebel Bears (Duskana Starter Pack). Please consider it as the first draft of the deck I'd build based on your idea, not an actual recommendation for your deck. But maybe it'll give you some ideas ...

I'm not sure Neurok Stealthsuit is really a good fit for this deck. The creature I most need to protect is Etrata, and I need to be able to target it.

Thanks for the suggestions clayperce! I agree i should add more ramp and maybe swap out the bridge lands to up the basic land count atleast. I did run Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist before and it didnt do much bc most times people dont bother with token removal to requip them.

I know tokens don't normally have a cmc unless they're the result of copying a permanent spell. Do further token copies (of the tokens with a cmc from the 6th Dr.) from a source like Romana II or Rhys the Redeemed still copy the cmc or are they 0 cmc tokens per usual?

I love Gift of Doom with Crypt Rats, I'm not sure if you have other synergies, other than using it's morph cost to protect your Commander?
Maybe Altar of Dementia in case someone casts a Farewell? I get that the rats will shrink as you sac more rats, but that's still a lot of mill to punish the guy who killed your furry friends! It can also be used to finish someone off that you can't attack due to pillowfort or Stax.
That just made me think of something else that'd synergize with your high power creatures, Mask of Griselbrand can turn a single big Rat into a life gain engine, and if someone tries to kill the rat you can draw a ton of cards, and you still have the equipment. It's also a great way to draw some bulk cards if you equip a big rat and use your Commander on them!

Absolutely LOVE the idea of this deck; big +1 for using For Mirrodin! as a Rebel Bear mechanic!
I know it can be really hard to find that "missing something" ... looking at it from the other angle though, are there any cards in here (besides the For Mirrodin! ones, of course) that absolutely nail it?
As a shot in the dark though, maybe some more ...
- Cost Reducers? E.g., Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist, Cid, Freeflier Pilot
- Ramp? E.g., Cultivate, Atalan Jackal
- Targeted Disruption? E.g., Path to Exile, Swords to Plowshares, Generous Gift, Beast Within
You might also be able to make use of some cards with Affinity for Equipment ... e.g.,Goldwardens' Gambit and Nahiri, Forged in Fury.

More specific question; how do I post alternate artwork in such a way, that it appears on a card's Alternate Artwork list? Like, assigned a number that can be wrapped with asterisks while editing decks to reference said alternate artwork?
I play 95% of my MTG on Tabletop Simulator, so I'm trying to get all of the custom cards to load up nicely. ^^

Very cool deck. I've been low-key thinking about building Angels (either Giada, Font of Hope or Errant and Giada) for a friend, and this makes it MUCH more likely, so thanks!
Idk how much room you might have for more non-Basic Lands, but in case you haven't already looked at them: Emeria, the Sky Ruin, Path of Ancestry, and Minas Tirith might be worth considering.
I also really like Herald's Horn in a Typal deck; it might be worth a look too.

I just came across Tyrite Sanctum. Pumps any legendary creature at instant speed and can protect our commander the turn it comes down since it’s already a God, we can also use it in a pinch, or if we are just flooded on mana. Imagine cracking Tyrite for the indestructible counter on our opponent’s end step right before our untap step, then just casting a wrath Flip pre combat.
Probably preferred over the second source of utility hate. Not a huge fan of gifting a free land to those uninvolved, but pretty nice if your playgroup/meta commonly runs OP nonbasics.

It always nice to see another Melek player in the wild. Here are some cards that have worked for me.
Mystical Tutor and Personal Tutor are both insane in melek.
Also instants and sorceries that can be played as lands like Sink into Stupor Flip and Valakut Awakening Flip can be used place of normal land and makes melek's ability a little more consistent.
Library of Leng is another really good included if you got enough discard cards like Shreds of Sanity, Frantic Search, and Recall
Ritual are always good Seething Song is my favourite
In removal I've found Nevinyrral's Disk is the only way to get rid of enchantments. Submerge is free in 90% of games. Also cards like Pillage and Boomerang are good when cloned and can hurt your opponents mana base.
Anyways I hope that these suggestions are helpful :)

@Andramalech oh, is that what that is? I was never sure what that meant. I would check my decks sometimes for other details like average cmc, and saw that once or twice. I figured it was attached to drafting or playing other people online or something, or maybe even a bug. Neat!

Abandoned Air Temple is another utility land that can produce white, and can pump the team at instant speed. Not sure if you want to cut a Plains for it since that would bring you down to 13 basics in the deck.

I have been playing this deck a ton at my LGS, and making changes to it on the fly to improve it further and to adapt — or adjust it to punish the same few things over and over — it to the play style of those games of these new & random pods that seem to play a lot more draw heavy, token-y, board state interaction based decks, that don’t have any idea of older cards and cheap mana cost discard and land destruction mechanics. Or even running a side board hehe I am too old I guess.
So alas here I am making this deck not so much to fully win anything other than a bit of their misery for just making squirrels and sharks on the board. I mean I didn’t say that…ooops yeah you can’t play land this turn ….oops yeah FlashFire did destroy every single one of both your plains, but what choice do I have?
