TLDR: This deck revolves around utilising Firebrand Archer and Thermo-Alchemist to combo off with burn spells to burn out the opponent, a simple Shock becomes an easy Lightning Bolt.

Main

Burn Spells

Long Game strategy

  • Fevered Visions - Replenishes our hand while dealing damage to our opponent, this also means we can deal damage on the end step of their turn

Counterspells

  • Dispel - We're playing 4 of here because you don't an opponent to counter your burn spells
  • Negate - Just in case they play something like Oketra's Last Mercy or another threatening spell such as an artifact or an enchantment
  • Unsubstantiate - In my opinion a great counterspell similar to Remand (but not as powerful) because you can bounce aggro creatures in the early games and bounce spells that could prevent the you from burning them out

Creatures

  • Firebrand Archer - Basically changes EVERY non-creature spell we CAST into a burn spell regardless of the mana cost, as this deck runs a very low spell curve, it is easy to simply outvalue the opponent if they decide to counter it
  • Thermo-Alchemist - Similar to the Firebrand Archer but unforunately the tap ability means that it suffers from summoning sickness and can only be utilised as early as T3, another downside to the Alchemist is that it doesn't deal damage for enchantments or artifact spells
  • Baral, Chief of Compliance* - Baral is just a test, the majority of the spells we cast are burn spells and with Baral we can make them even cheaper, a nice synergy with Baral is that we can counter a spell and draw and discard a Fiery Temper and activate it's madness

Board

  • Aetherflux Reservoir - Since we are playing janky win cons, why not win with the most jankiest win con of them all? This card will gain us life as they use an abrade to deal with it (which means one less abrade to target our Archer and Alchemist
  • Negate - More counter for artifact or enchantment shenanigans
  • Unsubstantiate - More counterspell
  • Unsummon - Bounce aggro strategies or tokens

NOTE: for a "budget" version, replace Spirebluff Canals for Highland Lakes
