Just curious as to what everyone's opinion is. I'll give my response after some more posts or if anyone mentions it.

Let's just get this joke out of the way...

Storm Crow

Time Walk , Ancestral Recall , or Timetwister would be my choices. other cards up there are Force of Will and Jace, the Mind Sculptor

Sol Ring is extremely powerful. Accelerate so much on the first turn? sounds good.

Define "most powerful".

Is this in a vacuum, as in completely by itself with zero other interactions and eliminating mana costs?

Or is this with synergies included?

Clearly Island .

Synergies- the cards most on-color Legacy & Vintage decks would run assuming it was legal in either.

You ask an opinionated question and then respond like these opinions are wrong answers? Do you know what an opinion is?

I'm saying Time Walk . That's my opinion.

Tinker !!!!!

If synergies are included, I'd have to say Volcanic Island , followed by Island and Force of Will .

Since we seem to actually be just guessing what your favorite card is, I'll begin the guessing with Shahrazad

Black Lotus , Channel , Ancestral Recall , Time Walk , Moxen, Demonic Tutor , Jace, the Mind Sculptor , Strip Mine , Mental Misstep , Fastbond , Survival of the Fittest , Hermit Druid ... Most of which are banned in Legacy, Modern, or restricted in Vintage.

Black Lotus no matter the definition of "powerful".

Reasoning?

It lets you play the 'strongest' spells on turn-1.

Anybody who has ever played EDH against a turn-1 Sol Ring knows how stupid turn-1 acceleration is.

That's actually one of the worst cards that's been printed ever, because it has no text. That, and it's actually an illegal ability in some countries.

Depends on how you use the card, but arguably black lotus

I've always believed Yawgmoth's Will to be the most straight up powerful Magic card ever printed. Black Lotus is amazing, yes, but when it comes down to it it's just a ramp spell. It's very common for Vintage players to concede to Yawgmoth's Will . Having access to every counterspell, Dark Ritual , important card that you already cast, hell even a Black Lotus , is nearly unbeatable.

The most powerful card in all of Magic the Gathering is Contract from Below hands down. Yes i know it's banned in every single format but a cards legality has no impact on its power level. Before arguing against Contract from Below being the most powerful card consider this, Ancestral Recall is a card so broken it commands a price tag in excess of a thousand dollars because it draws you three cards for only one mana. For the same CMC Contract from Below draws you more than twice as many cards. A close second to Contract would be Island or any other land capable of producing blue mana on turn one with no restrictions as far as what that mana can be used for. Why Island you ask? Take a look at just about any list that attempts to rank the most powerful cards in the game and you'll notice the color that tends to appear the most is blue. In fact the power nine (considered to be the most powerful legal cards in the game) bosts only a single color. Blue. (Time Walk and Ancestral Recall ).

Storm Crow may be powerful, but even Storm Crow dies to Doom Blade , the second most powerful card ever. In order for a card to be truly the most powerful card ever printed, it needs to survive against doom blade's overwhelming force. For that reason, I nominate Bog Hoodlums as the most powerful cards of all time.

Basically:

1 Bog hoodlums2 doom blade3 storm crow
