Best Magic Card of All Time

Undeniably has to be FireblastMTG Card: Fireblast. There is no greater card. Always a great surprise and a potential zero casting cost for 4 damage. Sac 4 mountain for 8 damage?? That is just about half your opponents life total. The great thing is when you have tapped all your land and you have done as much damage as you can in a turn you have nothing else you can do, WONG, sac your land. Undeniably the best card ever created. END What do you think?

[geistflame]] is not a good card. 1R for 1 dam? The only way that card is good if you have some unlimited combo you can keep casting it with. If so I would like to know. Other than that it sucks. Especially the flashback ability. 4 mana for 1 damage then you have to exile it? Give me a break. I hope you were not serious about that. Look at these with the mana cost damage ratio these cards do not need flashback. It's obviously Runeclaw BearMTG Card: Runeclaw Bear. Hands down. No contest.

No, seriously, Birds of ParadiseMTG Card: Birds of Paradise has seen the most reprints of any card I can think of. So since we're talking about 'Best' as apposed to 'most powerful', Birds get my vote.

lol Guys, power nine?

Also, Giant SpiderMTG Card: Giant Spider has seen the most reprints, I'm sure.

Oh snap! It wins by one print... still, I feel more affection for the birds =)

I agree, the Birds are boss. :D

Best card R+D had come up with is DovescapeMTG Card: Dovescape, hands down. Whoever let that one get printed is a genius...and a dick.

Force of WillMTG Card: Force of Will? Mental MisstepMTG Card: Mental Misstep's dastardly predecessor... then again if we're talking about playability and versatility I'd have to agree with orgasmandtea. Birds of ParadiseMTG Card: Birds of Paradise is gonna be the best in that field

April 15, 2012 10:49 a.m.

jcris25 says... #16

Dovescape can work well. I play MTGO and have it in an enchant deck I was building. I abandoned the deck before finishing it. I used DovescapeMTG Card: Dovescape with Curse of Death's HoldMTG Card: Curse of Death's Hold and some Sigil of the Empty ThroneMTG Card: Sigil of the Empty Throne. it was cool but became to much work trying to perfect it. IT could also work well with that artifact card that lets you pay 4 and put a creature from your hand onto the field. You could put lots of tokens out at a time with it and especially if you had some Doubling SeasonMTG Card: Doubling Season. DovescapeMTG Card: Dovescape is not completly useless. And To the previous post about the power 9, those cards are completly broken but they are not used much any more. They are mostly banned.

such an impossible question to answer. My favorite card is HatredMTG Card: Hatred, but I wouldn't say it's the best card. Glimpse the UnthinkableMTG Card: Glimpse the Unthinkable is a great card

This is what I think you'd like, after I seen that FireblastMTG Card: Fireblast up there, I thought it was missing its hand'n'hand buddy Barrel Down SokenzanMTG Card: Barrel Down Sokenzan. I play sokenzan before ya fireblast for best results!haha

I think squire1 has it here. Mana DrainMTG Card: Mana Drain is easily the most powerful card ever printed. Yes even better than Black LotusMTG Card: Black Lotus.

It is an answer to just about EVERY card ever! and on top of it you get mana.

FireblastMTG Card: Fireblast... no its just too risky. mana drain it and now you've just saced your precious land and your opponent will be blissfully playing with 6 extra mana next turn. plenty to board wipe and bring a huge creature. Good luck recovering from that.

There are many other cards that can be listed of course that have a strong case for being the best card out there. But I'd probably concede to a deck running Mana DrainMTG Card: Mana Drain as soon as they revealed one of them to me.

oh and as a sidenote GeistflameMTG Card: Geistflame is not a bad card. Certainly not the best card ever printed, but it is a killer in draft.

oh and IslandMTG Card: Island has a strong case too. I mean its free to play, comes into play untapped. Tap it and you gain 1 BLUE! mana and you can do that as soon as it comes into play... can you say OPed!

Most people who run FireblastMTG Card: Fireblast run 4. There is always a second one around the corner.

rck... that's complete bullshit. ForestMTG Card: Forest is clearly the most powerful land ever printed. I've won entire games with nothing but a forest.

Erm, actually the last is true... I play elves and have actually won games before with a single land...

April 15, 2012 2:23 p.m.

olowleye says... #28

1996 World ChampionMTG Card: 1996 World Champion id say is still the best on the fact that Tom Chanpheng had register'd his deck wrong an forgot his U/W duel land, thus being stuck to sideboard the Sleight of MindMTG Card: Sleight of Mind he could never cast, as well as the rules stating he must fill the duel land space with just plains. still won that shi'!

April 15, 2012 2:35 p.m.

rckclimber777 says... #29

lol OrgasmAndTea. Yea those elves are a tightknit group and they are pretty low maintenance with that one ForestMTG Card: Forest. But who wants to tap one forest to get a Green mana when you can tap an island to get a blue mana lol.

(ironic since my favorite decks to play when I first started were both green. One was a green beast deck and the other an elf deck and now if my deck doesn't have a counterspell in it, its simply because the deck isn't finished yet.)

This card is super broken BerserkMTG Card: Berserk. THat is a powerful card. Especially if your opponents lands are tapped out.

April 15, 2012 5:42 p.m.

burkek says... #42

in all actuality, the most broken card besides Storm CrowMTG Card: Storm Crow, is Yawgmoth's WillMTG Card: Yawgmoth's Will. There is a large movement to ban it in vintage because even as a 1 of it is still just well above the power level of everything else. In reality, Yawg-win is just an instant win almost every time it resolves.

is there some running joke concerning Storm CrowMTG Card: Storm Crow? I dont see why it's broken. its good but I wouldnt say its broken, there are other, stronger, 2 cmc fliers... Leonin SkyhunterMTG Card: Leonin Skyhunter, HovermyrMTG Card: Hovermyr, Stormfront PegasusMTG Card: Stormfront Pegasus and Squadron HawkMTG Card: Squadron Hawk to name a few. what's so special about Storm CrowMTG Card: Storm Crow?

I'm actually pretty sure Contract from BelowMTG Card: Contract from Below is the best card ever printed. Better than Mana DrainMTG Card: Mana Drain. I went there.

April 15, 2012 7:37 p.m.

rckclimber777 says... #46

lol metalmagic I've never seen that card nor ever heard of a concept like it in magic. I'll give you that. 1 mana to draw 7 cards is ridiculous.

I've never played with Yawgmoth's WillMTG Card: Yawgmoth's Will but that sounds like it's absurdly powerful in the right deck.

Dark RitualMTG Card: Dark Ritual.

It's just such a defining card. It opens T1 for so many combos and it's quite understated I feel compared to before. I guess without Yawgmoth's WillMTG Card: Yawgmoth's Will out of the picture (I would consider that card the number two), it's less broken, but it still enables so much out of one black mana cost.
