Void's Highway

Sideboard

I've finally moved on to a 3-color deck based on discards.

So, this is how this deck works:

A) Damage Outcome:

A big chunk of the damage comes from leiliana's caress + Duress + Inquisition of Kozilek + Raven's Crime + Burning Inquiry + whistful thinking + Fall + Smallpox. Raven's Crime deserves note. The retrace end's up being used much more then one would imagine. Smallpox also deserves note. It's one of the very best discard spells around, but should be used carefully for it's results may harm it's user as well.

leiliana's caress + Burning Inquiry may pop outrageous bursts of damage, specially if a second Burning Inquiry ends up in my hand.

The other possible damage outcome is from a single The Rack + Nezumi Shortfang . This rat rogue is incredibly handy and usually ends up as a creature version of The Rack.

Painful Quandary hardly needs explanation. It's quite expensive, but it can hurt a lot someone who ended up top decking.

At last, but not least, 3 mana Nyxathid can easily become a 5/5 or, even, 7/7. This creature fits very well in this deck's concept.

B) Survivability:

Sangromancer + Duress + Inquisition of Kozilek + Raven's Crime + Burning Inquiry + whistful thinking + Fall + Smallpox is one of the healing sources. Even thou there's only one in the deck, once she's out health goes up madly.

Tribute to Hunger is meant to be used against hexproof, but was picked over similar cards because of the healing. Field testing has proven it to be worthy.

C) Battlefield control:

Fall / Rise + Into the Roil can take care of a lot of stuff. Ideally, instead of killing, one may raise the creature to the owner's hand and, then, discard it.

Killing may be necessary, eventually, and that's the reason behind victim of night and tribute to hunger. Smallpox, as mentioned above, can be very disruptive.

D) Other stuff:

Geth's Grimoire gives all the card advantage needed. But, in odd situations, Burning Inquiry may - or may not - save the day.

Leyline of the Void changed this deck's sucess rate. One may consider running 3x instead of 2x. That's what finally made me overcome heavy artifacts decks.

Surgical Extraction is yet to be tested. Anyways, it has proven quite interesting against stuff the deck wouldn't be able to counter directly.

E) Sideboard:

Pretty much, the sideboard consists in responses to tokens / spheres ( Leyline of Singularity ); tokens ( Infest , Illness in the Ranks, Curse of Death's Hold); milling (a single Elixir of Immortality); artifacts (3x Smelt ); abusive lands (extra Tectonic Edge + Ghost Quarter).

Thanks for checking my deck.

Suggestions are very welcome.
