“The parts are as strong as the whole.”

Rounding out the colors for the Super-Budget series, we have a green Elf/Artifact deck. If that sounds like an unlikely combination, it is because it is. Elves are normally used on their own or as ramp for bigger stuff, but in this deck they actually serve as a payoff and a win condition.

One thing that elves (and green in general) do besides ramp, is handle counters. This fits great with the Modular keyword of some artifact keywords. The goal here is to get a lot of creatures onto the battlefield, pump them up and swing for lethal. To accomplish this, we are using some cheap Modular creatures like Arcbound Worker and Arcbound Stinger . Essentially what Modular lets us do, is keep our counters, even if we don't keep the creature. Couple this ability with our two elves Rishkar, Peema Renegade and Ezuri's Brigade and we have a very potent creature-base. For ramp, we are going a slightly different path and using Song of Freyalise . It helps us empty our hand quicker, and and the final chapter puts more counters on our stuff. To keep us going through our deck faster, Inspiring Call is perfect for the deck. Finally we have some pump-spells in Burst of Strength and Hunger of the Howlpack and even Overrun to round things out with that Ezuri-effect.

Creatures

Ornithopter -> Free blocker, but can also be used to ramp with Song of Freyalise

Arcbound Worker -> The cheapest modular creature in the the deck.

Hope of Ghirapur -> A great little protection-thopter.

Arcbound Slith -> A slightly better modular creature in that it pumps itself.

Arcbound Stinger -> Modular flyer. Our preferred way of evasion.

Rishkar, Peema Renegade -> A ramp-creature that also provides counters.

Ezuri's Brigade -> The alternative win-con of the deck. Hopefully he's a 8/8 trampler for 4. Easy inclusion.

Spells

Burst of Strength -> A pump spell for our modular creatures, but can also be used as a combat trick for a surprise blocker.

Hunger of the Howlpack -> A pump-spell that can potentially add 3 +1/+1 counters for one mana. Great with the Modular ability.

Inspiring Call -> Superb card-drawing ability with built-in protection.

Overrun -> Should your opponent have you locked down, use this ability to swing for lethal.

Support cards

Implement of Ferocity -> More counters and more card draw. Also useful for triggering Metalcraft on Ezuri's Brigade .

Song of Freyalise -> Our main source of ramp in this deck. Also provides a protection for the team, which can sometimes be used as a mini win-con.

Darksteel Citadel -> Needed to trigger Metalcraft.

Sideboard

Fog -> Use this when your opponent know what you are up to and tries to kill your team.

Savage Summoning -> Can be used as a brutal combat-trick if you want to flash in Ezuri's Brigade for instance.

Evolution Charm -> Versatile card, whose main advantage is returning stuff from graveyard.

Feed the Clan -> Keeps you alive a little longer against decks lige Burn.

Nature's Way -> A sort of weird green removal card. A great way to remove a blocker before an attack.

Reclamation Sage -> Great removal tool for pesky artifacts or enchantments.

Summoning Trap -> Super tool against the control player. They won't expect this, and it gets through a Chalice of the Void for instance.

This deck probably has the most direct upgrades of my Super-Budget decks.

Creatures

Arcbound Ravager -> Crazy good card, that would do wonders in this deck.

Walking Ballista -> Also really great place for all of your counters.

Craterhoof Behemoth -> Super way of closing the game out.

Verdurous Gearhulk -> Great alternative to Craterhoof. Fits with the theme of the deck.

Artifacts

Welding Jar -> For that little bit of extra protection for your stuff.

Bow of Nylea -> A great addition. The deathtouch ability alone is awesome.

Mox Opal -> Insanely good ramp spell in an artifact deck.

Other

Hardened Scales -> More counters. Easy inclusion.

Doubling Season -> Even more counters.

Inventors' Fair -> Very good land in the deck. The lifegain can be a lifesaver as well.

Spellskite -> Added protection against fast stuff, or maybe Bogles.

Buried Ruin -> Great way to get your cards back from the 'yard.
