Hi there, I'm just another huge Naya fan doing his duty.

We have all wondered on how to make Mayael's Aria work. When I first saw the card, not only did I fall in love with the the visual content, but also it's effects. I'm not a fan of infinite combos or cheeky tricks that will make a 1/1 creature infinitely strong and then trigger the Aria, no. All I've ever wanted has been to build a deck revolving Ageless Entity and Mayael's Aria. In order to do so, I've decided to go heavy on the control and weaker on the early aggro.

Mayael's Aria
Ageless Entity
Unflinching Courage/Behemoth Sledge

All these make the perfect recipe for havoc.

  • You will deffinitely not get this to work until at least past turn 6. Time is of essence.

  • It's a weak combo, any kind of removal will do.

  • VERY openning hand dependant.

How satistfying is it to see how your oponent sqwirms at the sight of a scaling 6/6? I'll let you answer that.
We need elements of control:
  • Alpha Authority will mostly prevent our creatures from removal.

  • Ajani Vengeant Stalls the game, repeatable Lightning Helix, nice ult

  • Lightning Helix/Path to Exile, over Lightning Bolt for the synergy. Good removal.

  • Oblivion Ring, I'm considering Qasali Pridemage for a more aggro deck, but still good enchantment/artifact hate.

  • We can't always win off that combo, so I brought in my favourite Naya card: Woolly Thoctar, and added Ajani's Pridemate because this deck is pretty heavy on lifegain. Sacred Cat will trigger multiple times our lifegaining abilities, provides a body and a second one when in the graveyard. Also added in Pride Sovereign for it's useful ability.

I would love to see this deck get better and progress into something that could have a chance with top tier modern decks (althought I highly doubt it haha). If anyone has any additions to make I'd love to read your opinion! Cheers
