A few guys that might help you out: Primal Command, Labratory Maniac(you do want to win sometimes, right?), Assault Formation(now those walls have teeth), Platinum Angel+Worship(not losing anyone?), Felidar Sovereign(again you do want to have a chance to win, no?) Blightsteel Colossus, and a few staples in your colors: Mulldrifter, Supreme Verdict, Crawlspace, Swords to Plowshares, etc. Cool deck but try to be a bit less passive imo. You might enjoy winning too. Wakestone Gargoyle seems fun here too.

Thanks for the suggestions, MsSysbit.

To answer your question, no, I absolutely DO NOT want to ever win with this deck. Trust me, I know how hard it is for people to understand this concept, I've had this discussion before... many times.

So, all the offensive cards you listed are a big nope in this deck. There is no offense, and I want no offense. Everybody knows that this is a no-win deck, and I want them to know that. That way, when it comes to threat assessment, I'm not even on the radar.

Mulldrifter isn't needed, since I'm giving everyone (including myself) plenty of card draw.

The one card you mentioned that I probably need in this deck, is Crawlspace, thanks for that. I actually thought I had one in here. I have it in most of my other decks.

I love the idea here. Can I suggest Elderscale Wurm? Not to turn sideways, but to make you even more of a pillow fort.

Thanks for the suggestion, EntariO.

I'm afraid that an Elderscale Wurm or a Platinum Emperion may come across as a threat, even if not intended to be, so I try to steer clear of that kind of thing.

I need to also add that these two creatures use up a lot of mana. Mana which could be used to cast more group hug spells.

That is fair enough. Love the deck, really interesting to see this kind of strategy.

Tempting Wurm. Suddenly you just became everyone's best friend :p

Thanks for the suggestion, Ocelot44.

I actually have Tempting Wurm. I bought it some time ago, with the intention of putting it in this deck but didn't.

I'm a little hesitant for a couple of reasons. One is that it's a 5/5 which could be deemed a threat, but mostly because, especially if one person has a Reliquary Tower, Thought Vessel, Spell Book, etc., and the others don't, it could give that person a huge advantage with all the card draw I'm giving out. I try, with this deck, to give everyone goodies evenly, including myself, which brings up another point. While everyone else is getting to dump their hands onto the battlefield, I can't. (Is that being too selfish for Group Hug?) /;-)

It is a great card for though, and I may still try to find a place for it.

I run a no-win Chaos Phelddagriff commander deck that is primarily designed to change the play of the game. A few cards I find to be very fun in it because they help/hinder equally:

I never thought of using Tempting Wurm. I might have to borrow that.

Oh hey I found another hilarious group hug card! Forced Fruition ;)

Thanks for the suggestions, guys!

Gamecat, some really cool cards there. A couple I've had in this deck at some point, but took out for whatever reason. I am intrigued by Dream Halls though. The only drawback I see is if someone has a Reliquary Tower or such in play but the others don't. I try hard with this deck to not give any one player an advantage over another.

Naked Singularity would have to go into a five color deck, of course, so that one is out.

I bought a City of Solitude to go into my Omnath, Locus of Mana deck, but decided to go with Hall of Gemstone instead. You did remind me that I needed to add it to my Treefolk deck though, so thanks for that.

Ocelot44, I did consider Forced Fruition, but I'm too afraid I would deck somebody with it. I did have it in my Phenax, God of Deception mill deck, until I decided to make that one less about card draw, and more about milling straight to the graveyard.

Great suggestions, all. Thanks for your input, guys!!

Some of the Tempt cards might work too, Tempt with Discovery seems the most non-threatening of the bunch but Tempt with Reflections might work too.

Dude! You could run Mirror Gallery and run Tempt with reflections!

metalevolence it sounds like someone's a little salty after losing to Norin the Wary one too many times ;)

Thanks for all the upvotes and comments, guys!!

Clay_Teapot, I do have both of the Tempt cards you mentioned in this deck already. Tempt with Reflections is especially fun when I copy something like Magus of the Vineyard. In a four player game, if everyone takes me up on my offer, each player gets 16 green mana at their first main phase. Hilarity ensues!

Ocelot44, Yeah, with Mirror Gallery out, I could Tempt with Shizuko, Caller of Autumn in a four player game and each would get 24 green mana every turn, rather than 16. Oh the humanity!!

RainbowInferno, I do have an Arbiter of Knollridge and considered it. It's a daunting mana cost though, and that late in the game, it would surely piss off whoever is about to win, so I don't know...

And finally...metalevolence, you sound like a fun guy, wound a little tight perhaps, but love your ideas on threat assessment.

Lol just do the Tempting Wurm then Descend upon the Sinful XD I know it doesn't fit the theme but it's pretty funny nonetheless

Collective Voyage is another new frontiers effect that the opponents can help with and you could also run Forbidden Orchard as a dual land and even give an opponent who's far ahead an Akroan Horse

May 20, 2016 1:03 a.m.

RamaLama says... #20

Thanks for the suggestions, Trignano.

I tried running Collective Voyage, but every time it got around to my turn, I would look around and everybody (except maybe the blue player) would be tapped out. It seemed there was never a good time to play it when it would help everyone evenly.

As for Akroan Horse, I try not play cards that would help any one player over another, even if that player is behind. I don't want to control the game in that way.

However, Forbidden Orchard needs to go in here. I can use it to give out tokens to everyone. I don't currently have one, but it's going to be on it's was shortly. Thanks for that.

Trignano, yes, I am going to put Collective Voyage back in this deck, it's needed whether anyone else chips in or not. Unfortunately, I traded away my copy, and will have to order another.

Thanks again!!

I usually see collective voyage on the first few turns when nobody has played anything yet. Even at 1-2 mana per person going from 2 mana to 5-6 mana is always fun lol
