I always found Marchesa, the Black Rose to be an incredibly intresting card, yet I never saw a non-EDH deck(for sure not a good one) that employed her. I already have an endless list of maybe cards that mostly got excluded or sideboarded, i'm always open to suggestions but there's really quite a lot of stuff i already tried. I'll post them at a later date. So after quite the time spent testing it, perfecting card balance and colors here it is!

The main strategy clearly is getting marchesa out. since everyone needs +1/+1 to come back to life Sage of Fables does a great job at doing so(plus endless draw for 2 mana with Chasm Skulker), especially with creatures coming back from the graveyard with a counter right away. Not everyone is a wizard though(if only..), only half of them, so there's Power Conduit to move counters around (nicely interacts with the triggered ability of the Protean Hydra ), Aether Vial produces counters that can be increased or decreased with power conduit, Ion Storm uses those counters to control and of course if you get Hardened Scales or Doubling Season out you're set since everything happens much faster much bigger. Basically everything rotates around this concept, nothing is strong on its own but rather works in synergy with other stuff.

All in all I'd say i managed to make a fun to use brainy deck unlike some aggros and at the same time its not a cruel control deck and is mostly creatures. Obviously, considering the investment one would have to make on the lands you'd probably get a more competitive deck but i play with proxies only with friends so I don't care about the cost of lands and cards in general(as long as everyone keeps stuff balanced and dual lands don't change the outcome of games if everyone uses them)and i didn't have the time to change it for this site.Let me know what you think of it, test it yourself if you want or make something else of it and let me know about it!
