Looks super fun I've always wanted to build Ovika

I might suggest more permanents over instants/sorceries for repeated value. For ramp Thought Vessel, Mind Stone, Sol Ring, Pyromancer's Goggles. What goes well with go-wide decks are a lot of Coastal Piracy-type cards

Curse of the Swine, Pongify, and/or Rapid Hybridization could replace Run Away Together, Unsubstantiate, etc

+1 from me!

It always takes me a couple of days to catch up on previews. I got some time off today, so I'm almost up to date.

Another Mystery Booster Playtest mechanic arises!

Kaervek, the Spiteful + Maha, Its Feathers Night (not enough poetic, too much awkward in that name) could be interesting. Would it be good enough for Pioneer?

New art for Run Away Together by Omar Rayyan. He's got the right style for this sort of pastoral setting.

You only have 3 cards that ramp you You should have 10-12 pieces of ramp. I'd cut Brainstorm Index and Run Away Together for Mind Stone Arcane Signet and Fellwar Stone some more ramp options are Worn Powerstone Commander's Sphere and Thought Vessel I personally like Bonder's Ornament

Nimbleclaw Adept: kinda late to start worrying about inifinitive untap combos, WotC

The Illithid's design on Run Away Together together is great, and I hope that they keep making new funny romantic pairs for the art

Ingenious Artilerist: Mostly worse than Reckless Fireweaver (costs more), but it does synergize with e.g. Pain Magnification for bigger groups of artifacts

Wild Magic Surge: Note that if the target gets indestructible, the controller still gets to cheat in a permanent.

Altar of Bhaal: Question to D&D people: why isn't this Myrkul-flavored?

So the first time I read "Gray Slaad" I read it as "Gray Salad", and that is the name that I will forever call it.

I am a little sad that we didn't get anymore major reprints today (though Deadly Dispute is nice as it is surprisingly expensive). I can't complain too much though since the Battle Bond lands and Reflecting Pool are amazing reprints.

"Cut a deal" feels very reminiscent of Syphon Mind, just white aligned. Seems like a good card draw spell for white in more casual settings.

Run Away Together was arguably the best removal spell in Commander Legends limited so it's nice to see it again here.

I am surprised that "Tavern Brawler" is at common. It seems much more powerful than most of the higher rarity Backgrounds. Same with "Candlekeep Sage".

Now that the main set is spoiled, my opinion is that the set looks fun for limited, yet powered down enough to protect the larger EDH environment. I am a fan.

Love the AEther Tradewinds tech. You might consider Run Away Together as another version of the effect.

I wonder if there's a way to abuse Naev?

Vampire Hexmage secures you the means to remove the counters. But Naev's trigger will cause you to both get an extra turn and sacrifice him.

I wonder, in response to his trigger going off, if you bounce him then the ability still resolves but he's in your hand and thus can not be sacrificed, right? So next turn you can drop him again.

All you need is a reliable way to bounce both Vampire Hexmage as well as play Naev. Or, what you could do, is the following:

Now all you need is a reliable bounce spell. Isochron Scepter and Run Away Together would likely be best, as you can now slowly bounce the whole board, one painful turn at a time. It's a big setup, sure, but two things:

  • You're in Dimir - the two best nonland colors to tutor for.
  • It's infinite extra turns. Don't expect it to be so easy.
