mana dorks give you some aggressive draws and allows you crack a field of ruin on turn two, and have cryptic/supreme verdict mana up on three. thragtusk+resto was so good in standard and thragtusk is being played in modern anyways, so felt like a good bomb. its not teferi or something, sure. thinking of snapcaster over finks/queller, but queller has interactions with resto, so idk.
