Help on Mardu! Good Interactions?

Standard Deck Help forum

Basically I've grown a little tired of Mardu dragons and want something fresh while still being in the color pile of Mardu! I also didn't want to do the Mardu Token decks that run around as much either. I wanted something new, something that took advantage of the graveyard or anything. Abzan has gotten a lot of great graveyard interactions with Den Protector, Satyr Wayfinder, and Deathmist Raptor in their green pile. It feels like Green is doing Black's job better right now which is kind of funny in itself. Most good things that Abzan runs are green or normally require green such as Tasigur, the Golden Fang. I just don't feel Mardu has as amazing set of interactions that make it as effective. Perhaps that is just me though!

Now with Origins out I have been looking over on trying to find a great way to better my Mardu deck and I think I have a decent idea going on here. I'm considering playing a semi-reanimator build that runs Alesha, Who Smiles at Death with cards that have great EtB triggers. So far the main ones I've noticed are Priest of the Blood Rite and Cleric of the Forward Order, Pia and Kiran Nalaar, and we also have Liliana, Heretical Healer  Flip to pull back if we so desire. It would run also Kolaghan's Command to grab back creatures of value as well. How effective a deck like that would be is unknown to me, but I'd like to know if there are any other good interactions a Mardu Reanimator deck might have or cards that might support this idea?

Undead Servant is interesting, although Alesha can't bring it back.

You could supplement Alesha's ability with a card like Gravepurge though.

If you're going to keep bring creatures on to the field you might think about having Impact Tremors out.

Just had another thought.

Some death touch creatures like Typhoid Rats and Ruthless Ripper might also be useful for holding off bigger threats like Managorger Hydra.

Argeaux actually you could Graveblade Marauder for that! Which is a card that actually hold up really well in this deck.

The major issue for a deck like this honestly is the means of getting cards into the graveyard to be effective aside combat. I mean it'd be awesome to cheat out a Priest of the Blood Rite on turn 4 but the only cards that are even 'alright' at this job are Tormenting Voice and Vaultbreaker. You'd have to rely on your opponent discarding stuff and normally that doesn't work for you.

Also other cards that would be decent are sacrifice effects for our creatures. Maybe things like Fiery Conclusion, Nantuko Husk, or Collateral Damage?

Avaricious Dragon allows for more draw, but is better suited to very fast decks IMO.

Had another thought.

Qarsi Sadist would be fun to keep bringing back from the dead.

Thinking about it, Gravepurge would be brilliant for reanimating Akesha if she dies.
